A sudden and unexpected underwater tremor happened in Lake Victoria, which opened a huge crack on its otherwise shallow floor. As a diver goes down to study it, he makes a shocking, and deadly discovery, the presence of man-eating fish with razor sharp teeth, with him as its first victim. These fish were believed to be prehistoric and long extinct, but somehow it was able to survive in the deep.

Nearby, a summer party is well underway, and authorities have gone there to warn the teens. Later on, a group of strangers find themselves in a lfe or death situation, and not be become part of the piranha's meal.
