State public court records are managed at different levels. A state court record may be issued by a number of government agencies. For example vital records are usually maintained by a local office of vital statistics; driving records are collected and stored with the local department of transportation and so on. State court records are typically filed by state courts. These are usually records of criminal or civil offences as well as bankruptcy records and various types of court dockets.
A state court record search is usually done by people who need or want to check someone's past. There are many reasons why one will be interested if another person has any past criminal records- they may be hiring him or her to work in their home or office or just out of pure curiosity.
