What information is filed in the public inmate records?
Inmate public records provide details about prisoners. An inmate public record is this type of criminal public record that will show if a person is currently in any correction facility.
Inmate public records contain information about all current and prior crimes, a full list of detention facilities where the person has been sentenced, the period of the sentences. Some records will only show you the current location. In addition a public inmate record will have the name of the prisoner, their identification number assigned by the detention facility, biometric information (eye color, skin color, etc), age, race and sex, type of the offence.
How to find free inmate public records?
If you need to find free inmate public records, probably you will decide to go to the city or county jail. This may be a good idea, especially if you have a lot of spare time and if you are prepared to go through the jail's strenuous procedure of releasing free public inmate records. Moreover it is very likely that you will need to pay a fee for every inmate record you want to view.
On the other hand, if you need to get free inmate public records without spending so much time and money, you better search online. There are many public record databases that provide criminal record search. What you need to check in advance is what kind of records each website offers, so read carefully the small print. Some can only provide state record search.
