Veteran actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, who became known to a whole new generation when her picture was displayed on the packaging of the popular Corel graphics software, has died at her home in Orlando, FL at age 86.?She is perhaps best remembered for her role as Delilah in Cecil B.?DeMille's 1949 film, Samson and Delilah, and for her role alongside Spencer Tracy in the 1992 film, Tortilla Flat.?She is also credited with the invention of a system used in satellite transmissions and cellular phones.?In 1998, use of Lamarr's photo by Corel touched off a lawsuit by the actress who claimed that it was used without authorization.?The suit was later settled.?Source Studio Briefing
