Michael Farr works as a volunteer at the seaside town where he lives, a place where writers from around the world gather every year at the international literary festival. There he meets Lena Morelle, a writer of novels on ghost and supernaturals. They eventually became well acquainted with each other, specially since Michael has been experiencing something supernatural lately and is able to relate with Lena. There's another guy, the famous novelist Nicholas Holden, with whom Lena had a brief relationship.

Nicholas is jealous at Michael for keeping too close to Lena, and conflicts followed that will later put these three persons on a collision course with each other.
