Vincere is an Italian drama film that is based on the life of the first wife of Benito Mussolini who was known for being a notorious womanizer. Ida Dalser (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) a young beautician, who had a love story with Benito a year before he got married with Rachele Guidi, suffered a dark past with the man he used to love. She was deeply in love with Mussolini believing in him and to his ideas as she first met him in Milan. He was then a good editor of Avanti and ardent socialist who intends to lead the masses towards liberal future. She was so amazed with him and even considered him as her hero.

But as Benito Mussolini rose to power, Ida and her son began to be rejected making her life become miserable.
