Based on the novel of Nicholas Sparks comes a story of a rebellious teenager who had a chance to be with his estranged father three years after their parent's ugly divorced. Veronica "Ronnie" Miller (Miley Cyrus) became miserable and hostile right after what happen to their family. She refused to reconnect with his father Steve, but left with no choice as her mother sent her to his place to spend summer with him. Upon arrival, she stayed defensive and stayed away from her father. She always rejects him including Wil whom she met in Tybee Island.
