xbox 360 rol: a beginner's guide
I'm sure you have heard of a lot of problems that occurs in a the xbox 360. Most of it are associated with flashing red lights on the front panel.
An xbox 360 rol, or short for ring of light, is one such indication that your xbox is in a problematic state.
Some flashing red lights may indicate serious hardware malfunctions, while some are minor ones. The xbox 360 rol tells you that your game console has a problem with the audio video (AV) aspect.

Dealing with flashing red ring of lights takes only a few minutes. The 
simplest approach is to disconnect and reconnect the AV cable.
The AV cable connects your xbox console to the TV screen. Try inspecting the end connections at the back (or front) of your tv av jacks as well as at the back of your game console. Better yet, disconnect the AV cable from both ends, clean it up from dust or dirt, then reconnect, making sure you connect to the right jack.
If this doesn't fix the xbox 360 rol problem, you may want to replace your AV cord with another one. Try borrowing one from a friend or neighbor so that you can be certain that your AV cable is defective and needs replacement.
