The White Ribbon is an Austrian-German drama film written and directed by Austrian Michael Haneke. The story happened in 1914 just before the World War I in the Northern German Village, which talks about acts of vandalism and terrorism, at the rise of national socialism. It started in a village of Protestant Northern Germany where there are children's choir managed by the school teacher and their families. They experienced horrendous circumstances which they consider as ritual punishment.
One thing that remains a mystery for them is who could be responsible for all the strange incidents that happened, and the more important reason: why?
