According to CreativePro.com: Apple sold 1,350,000 computers last quarter or one Mac every six seconds of the quarter, according to Apple iCEO Steve Jobs (Noah Wiley:)) in his keynote speech today at Macworld San Francisco. Though Apple will announce its quarterly finances in two weeks, Jobs said the financial news would be reason to celebrate.?Last quarter the company sold more Macs than in any quarter in the company's history.?The combination of iBooks and PowerBooks accounted for 11% of the laptop market share in the US retail and mail order market, the largest percentage in years.?In October and November, the iBook was the top selling consumer portable in the US.?Among purchasers of the consumer portable in the US, 11% were first time buyers and 17% were "Wintel switchers," bringing the total percentage of new Apple customers among iBook purchasers to 28%.?Fifty-six percent of those who bought the iBook say it's the first portable in their home.?In short: One Mac is sold every six seconds Hell I am even joining the craze trying to get a iMac in the office as soon as possible (mostly for testing purposes)
