Xbox360 not reading disc games?

Since you are reading this article I assume that you are in a bit of bother with your Xbox360 that is not reading DVD disc or discs games. Before getting all mad at your Xbox360 have a closer look at the DVD and be sure that it is scratch free. Clean it up gently and give it another try.

If you are lucky then this might just work However if we are talking about an Xbox360 not reading and discs at all then I smell a different sort of trouble. You might need to crack this case by opening your Xbox360 and fix the driver itself.

Why your Xbox360 is not reading disks?

As I have mentioned this already, your Xbox360 might not read a DVD disc if that is a defective one. But if the disc or the discs are just fine then the problem can be due to some grease which got clotted over the motor wheel of your machine. This is a common problem that many gamers face when their machine grows old.

There are three options you have to fix an Xbox360 that is not reading game DVD discs. I am sure the first one is already clicking in your mind. Yes, Microsoft. Do you have your warranty still covering your Xbox360? Then simply browse to Microsoft's repair center website and give a shout. They will fix the problem without charging you any fee.

But if it is an Xbox360 with an expired warranty then repairing it through Xbox360 is not reading DVD disc or discs games?Microsoft might not be the best option at all. First of all, they will charge you a good $140 as service charge, then you will also have to add up the shipping cost, wait for four weeks to get your Xbox360 back and lastly your Xbox360 may again fail to read DVD discs! Microsoft is not giving you any extended warranty or guarantee that it will stay fit for a long time.

The second option is going for some other service provider to repair your Xbox360 which is not reading DVD disc games. They will charge you less than Microsoft.

And the last option is forgetting all other mechanics and transforming yourself to one! Yes you got that right. Fix it by yourself. This is what I recommend if your Xbox360 is out of the warranty period.
