This movie is based on the 2003 video game that bears the same name. A rogue prince was tricked by a dying Vizier into unleashing the Sands of Time, which fatally destroyed a kingdom as well as transforming its people into ferocious demons. To make up for his mistake, he must take the sands back to the hourglass. He teams with a rival princess to do this, as well as to protect it from falling into the wrong hands. The prince also possesses an ancient magical dagger, which is able to reverse time. Dark forces are all after them, very eager to use these items to rule over the world.
