A Chinese epic film of gigantic proportions (this movie was the most expensive Asian-financed movie to date), Red Cliff is based on the Battle of Red Cliffs during the Han Dynasty. Determined to deal a deadly blow against all warlords that are against him, Prime Minister Cao Cao leads a big miltary campaign towards the kingdoms of Liu Bei and Sun Quan. Along the way he crushes Liu Bei's army, which forces Liu Bei to retreat.
