In an effort to stir up the music-buying public and educate them on the joys of downloadable music tracks, Virgin Megastores has announced that its retail outlets will offer Diamond Multimedia?s Rio 500 player for sale, and provide both instructions on how to use the devices and music tracks for downloading.?The company, known for its innovative approach to marketing and selling music, among other things, will offer the tracks via in-store kiosks developed by Sony Music.?Rio is the first portable device developed exclusively for the purpose of downloading music with the ability of off-line playback.?The companies anticipate future agreements to make additional entertainment available for the hand-held devices.
