Warner Brothers Studios has moved the release of the new Harry Potter movie back to July 17, 2009.
Blaming the writer's strike for a lag in producing blockbuster films - WB has moved Harry Potter to the summer to draw a bigger audience.
This sounds like a pretty bonehead move on the part of WB considering they just released a teaser trailer and Harry Potter has been on the cover of entertainment and movie magazines talking about the big upcoming fall movies.
With the film being pushed back, Harry Potter fans will have to wait even longer for their Potter-fix.
Harry Potter - which had no competition in its original November release, will now have to go head-to-head with Land of the Lost. Disney's Bolt will now occupy Potter's November release.
Was this a good move or is WB as dumb as they appear?
