The folks over at EW.com have posted some new photos from "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans," the third installment in the sci-fi series.
"Rise of the Lycans" serves as a prequel to the first two films, and focuses on the origin of the war between the Lycans and their former owners, the Death Dealers.
And while I'm sad to say we won't be seeing Kate Beckinsale this time around, the film's new star Rhona Mitra ("Nip/Tuck," "Boston Legal") is just as easy on the eyes. Her character Sonja fights the Death Dealers in attempt to free the werewolves. (I forgot how nutty this series is).
Also starring in the supernatural prequel are Bill Nighy (as Viktor, the vampire king) and Michael Sheen (as Lucian, the leader of the Lycans).
"Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" hits theaters on January 23, 2009.

The narration at the end of the Underworld Evolution makes reference to the future,NOT the past. The past has been touched on enough to support the franchise as is.
Kate Beckingsale is an intergral part of this franchise, which would explain why her character's name "Selene",has been removed from the 3rd installment in this series & replaced with a character of "Sonja".
This upcoming film is nothing more than the result of a scurvy horde of corporate-studio ass-wipes making a feeble attempt to cash in on the Underworld name.
F**k the f**cking f**kers-these Godd**mn c**ksuckers are going to go bankrupt making this film and they're going to eat a big steaming pile of thier own s**t on this one.
