Jack Black and director Richard Linklater have been attached to a new project: the sequel to Black's 2003 hit "School of Rock," according to Variety.
The film, titled "School of Rock: America Rocks," will follow Dewey Finn and his band of students-turned-rockers on a cross-country tour.
Mike White, who wrote the script for the first installment, turned in a script for the sequel back in June and shared his thoughts during a panel at the Los Angeles Film Festival:
"I'm still, like, crying as I'm writing the script," White told his audience. "I try to come at it from a personal place. ... I just turned it in. It's a little too fresh off the boat for me to get into right now."
Hmm... that doesn't sound too promising, but then, what can we expect from a movie with the subtitle "America rocks?" That just screams "straight to Disney Channel."
