Ashley Tisdale to star in Teen Witch remake

Disney Channel's Ashley Tisdale -- that's probably the most appropriate way to introduce her -- will be starring in a remake of the 1989 film "Teen Witch," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story involves an unpopular high school girl named Louise, originally played by Robyn Lively, who finds out she is a descendant of the witches of Salem. She gets magical powers, craziness ensues, blah blah blah.
Despite being 22 years old -- she turns 23 in July -- Tisdale can't seem to shake these high school roles. Her "High School Musical" character is a high school junior, and her character on Disney Channel's "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" is 16.
I'm willing to look past the age thing (God knows I let it slide on "Dawson's Creek") as long as the remake is just as unbelievably 'funky' as the original:
