The master of re-animating the dead on celluloid George Romero is back at it again, this time it appears he's back to his grass-roots, indie-style which we used to love. Dairy of the Dead is the Romero's fifth zombie flick and made with no big stars, a quick shooting schedule, digital technology and a small budget.
the film follows a group of college students shooting a horror movie in the woods who stumble upon a real zombie uprising. When the onslaught begins, they seize the moment as any good film students would, capturing the undead in a "cinema verite" style that causes more than the usual production headaches. Shot entirely in subjective camera, Dairy of the Dead might be a bit gimmicky especially since Blair Witch and Cloverfield.
