First Five Minutes of AVP: Requiem Online!

The AVPR tidbits are flying fast and furious these last few weeks leading up to the film's release. Producers are so confident they have a hit on their hands, they're showing off the first five minutes of the film online, albeit not in the best quality. Unless this is unauthorized, in which case hurry!

So it really doesn't seem that bad. A bit gratuitous, sure, but the tone set in this opening is already far superior than the original AVP. Here's to hoping.

That has to be a condensed, heavily edited version of the opening 5 minutes surely? I mean the Predalien thing goes from chestation to fully grown in like ten seconds. It seemed like it was made by some kid with ADD who really couldn't be bothered with any setup and just wanted to get straight into the action.

Wow. They really give us a lot in the opening.
 
Things we wanted to see and didn't know about - clearer glimpses of the Predator technology (which is always cool).

And yes it is fast paced, but I think thats ok. I mean, you think the hunters might get away and become bigger characters POW! NOPE! Sort of letting you know that EVERYONE is up for grabs on the old facehuggin'. The pace also indicates an URGENCY to the hero predators mission. It sets up things nicely.

I like these AVP titles - it reminds me of the old Godzilla versus king kong flicks I loved as a kid.

I don't mind if the predator gets a human sidekick - so long as its not some saucy waif swingin her booty like a battleaxe like it was in AVP. Implications of a romantic tie between human and pred? I mean come on man - we are like antelope to them. And last I checked, hunters don't usually go asking antelope or caribou if they want to join in on the hunt.

I'm Russ, and I am looking forward to this nice action paced sci-fi flick.
