New Speed Racer Trailer and Photos!

The trailer and eight new images from the upcoming Speed Racer film have hit the net. Yesterday we quoted AICN's Harry Knowles praising the trailer to the point where he must have blanked out and tried to combine all his favorite things into one super-compliment. And now I look at chocolate a little differently. That said, based on this media, the film is definitely whacked out, as Knowles made clear.

The film stars Emile Hirsch as Speed, Christina Ricci as Trixie, Matthew Fox as Racer X, and some chimp as Chim-Chim. Oh and John Goodman and Susan Sarandon as Speed's parents.

The film, directed by the Wachowski brothers, is due out in the summer of 2008.

are we not supposed to be able to tell? or is this a rough cut? or did they do this on purpose? this looks like the cut screens from a 1994 pc game.
