Christian Bale is John Connor?

Christian Bale will play John Connor in the upcoming Terminator film, reports Ain't It Cool News. The article cites a source who "has never been wrong before." Earlier this week came news that McG would likely direct the film. Could Bale's casting be a glimmer of hope for the franchise?

I like Christian Bale, so if the rumor is true it could balance out the McG effect for me. It could even be a sign that the movie is going to be good, as Bale seems to attach himself to good projects. Let's hope.

Terminator 4 (officially titled Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, a name which has not yet grown on me) is set for a 2009 release.
