Yep, masters of commercialism for dollar summer tentpoles, Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg came out (to mean-talk Paramount's decision to not support the Blue-Ray DVD format). So huge and daring of them both. Bay even "blog famed" late at night about it. ?So daring.
We in the DT front office, chatting in the DT cafeteria, aren't sure how we feel about this whole thing. We do feel two physical formats is big nuts (a variety of digital formats is another thang, everything's convertible). And maybe that brings us to our point.
Maybe the true answer lies in putting more money into high-speed, large scale torrent-type downloading-disc-images technology instead of battling over physical format bullshit that will forever morph and change over shorter and shorter periods of time. Up with downloading.
