Doom, Postal, Mortal Kombat, Requiem, Blood, and Duke Nukem have been made illegal for further sale in Brazil, by order of Judge Claudia Maria Resende Neves Guimaraes.?The decision was brought about by a recent shooting in a Sao Paulo, where the gunman said he was inspired to kill by Duke Nukem.?The judge said that a rating system must be put into effect within 120 days.?It seems kind of odd to just ban 6 games, but I guess you can't argue with the law.?Read more...

I swear this kind of sh*t is pissing me off to no end. The blatent stupidity of these people! Murder, violence and mayhem have been around since the dawn of time. No one ever needed an excuse to be a disturbed individual. Banning something because one person decided to fixate his homicidale tendancies on it is just ridiculous.
Reminds me of the case where a bunch of crazies went on a killing spree and everyone blamed it on Dungeons & Dragons. Never mind that there are thousands of mentally/emotionally healthy people who play these games. Lets just out-and-out ban it because of one loser. More and more this world is making me sick.

That is why the USA is great. This kind of thing (censorship) goes on in so many "democratic and free" countries everyday. As much as people complain about the USA, this is the greatest country in the world. If anything, our own media tells us that the USA is crap so that they have a story themselves. Dateline, and 20/20 and all those news magazine shows love doing "special reports" on the "growing trend rampaging across America." ..... We are very well off here.
