The major studios continue to try and replicate LOTR and Harry Potter-type success with new fantasy franchise possibilities. The adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Stardust could be a winner (His Dark Materials could be another). Stardust tells the story of a man adventuring around in the "fairy relm," looking for a fallen star to impress his old lady.

The film is being directed by Matthew Vaughn (dir. Layer Cake, fired or quit X-Men 3 dring pre-production) and stars Charlie Cox, Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert DeNiro, Peter O'Toole and Rupert Everett.
