Bob Shaye has been the head of New Line Cinema for a bit. Apparently what he really wanted to do was direct. After watching the trailer for his debut, Mimzy, we might be glad he did. Mimzy looks to be about a couple of kids who gain special abilities and begin to get messages from the future.

Mimzy stars Timothy Hutton, Joely Richardson, Rainn Wilson (The Office), Michael Clarke Duncan and opens next spring.
