Keep your eye out ladies, Benicio Del Toro is set to produce and star in the remake of The Wolf Man. Benicio said he is very excited about the remake as he has collected Wolf Man memorabilia for many years.
The 1941 original horror classic first starred Lon Chaney JR and was set in a then-modern Wales. This time around with Benicio it will be set in Victorian England. No one has explained the change.
They have nabbed Andrew Kevin Walker to write the script. He is mostly known as the screenwriter for Sleepy Hollow starring Johnny Depp and Seven starring Brad Pitt.
All are anxious to take advantage of some new visual effects technology that will emphasize some new frightening twists to this known tale. Watch for new plot twists and added characters, for more excitement I am guessing.
Filming won't begin until 2007, with a hopeful release in Summer 2008. There is nothing like an old movie coming back to life with new hot actors. Especially an old story of a very scary lycanthrope that may, or may not, exist. I can't wait!
Benicio Del Toro won an Oscar for his role in Traffic. His last role was in Sin City with Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba.

Benicio Del Toro! Yeah man! Perfect choice as well. All the money they will save by not having to use make-up & special effects on this phucked-up looking dude. They just have to shave his ass-hair and paste it on his fugly head.

I thoroughly loved the original Wolfman movie. Introducing Michael Landon as Wolfie. Del Toro would make an easy transition as the new Wolfie. My Congrats to him for accepting the challenge.
