Star Wars film producer Rick McCallum spoke to the BBC recently and dropped a few hints about the Star Wars live-action series that (begin holding breath now) won't go into physical production until 2008. ?The major details; it's going to take a long time and none of the actors from previous SW episodes will appear. Click over for more small nuggets of nothing special. ?AND, just added, Lucas' new interview with Time magazine.
Update: Lucas is in the latest Time magazine and is talking Indy 4, Star Wars, and digital filmmaking.

Oh man. Is it just me that thinks this is going to be more crappy bull$#it. Ep. 1 sucked becuz of crappy acting from the anakin kid & jar jar binkster. Ep. 2 was interesting but the story could've been a little more exciting. Ep. 3 had some interesting moments but it could've had more substance. Have the people[Rick Berman ,
Michael Piller ,
Jeri Taylor ] who were in charge of Star Trek VOYAGER series to make this work!

The whole concept of the show sounds interesting but most likely it will never happen. If it does, though, I hope it is good and not piece of crap that totally bashes the name of Star Wars!

Part of what made the original Star wars movie so compelling was the fact that Lukes journey took him from away from his boring moisture farm he'd lived on his whole life and onto this amazing adventure. Well, if this new TV show is going to have a young Luke going on amazing adventures every week then it kind of dilutes the original doesn't it? This show needs to either be focused on new unknown characters like perhaps the few remaining Jedi's who are on the run from the Empire or be set after Return of the Jedi.

Just as long as lUcas doesn't write or direct any episodes. They should get people like Ron Howard, Kevin Smith and Edgar Wright to do a few.

I really hope the show does happen, but I think it's unlikely. If it does I hope it has new characters with cameos by classic characters in every few episodes. That would be awsome. The new characters should be like unknown Jedi or something that like do crap and save the galaxy or solve crimes. I can see it now CSI: Star Wars

I don't think it's that we don't have lives, we just share a common interest. I don't think anyone idolizes Mr. Lucas, we just are grateful for the films he made that we like! You can't say that Star Wars were crap films, they totally dominate the highest grossing films of all time list! It's all personal opinion, if you ask me.

Jar jar double fucked me in the ass. Ahmed Best and evry1 involved with jarjar are all motherfuckers. And 2008 is when my ass won't be fit for a normal theatr chair. So i wont see the mothrfukr jarjar in the theatre (halleyluja!) And we must remember... none of the aktrs/aktresses from the normal SW will be in this version. so ahmed motherfucker best wont be in this likely to be crappy SW film.
