Could DEPP Be in the Next BATMAN??

IGN has posted some speculation about the next "Batman" film's latest villain rumors, which were semi-cryptically revealed by Moviehole last week. The site cautions readers to "take it with a grain of salt," yet Stax at IGN offers some interesting theories about what the scooper said.

I don't know why an anonymous scooper has to be coy, but when Stax deconstructs the hints, what he concludes is pretty convincing.

For the role of The Joker, the big-name actor that Warners and director Christopher Nolan are said to be eyeing "has a major film coming out this summer and it's a sequel to one of his biggest hits. In fact, his performance in the first movie was nominated for an Oscar."

That actor, of course, is Johnny Depp, an oft-mentioned fan fave to play The Joker.

Could Johnny Depp be playing the Joker in the upcoming "Batman" film? Sounds good to me, but only time will tell.
