Jean-Pierre Jeunet (City of Lost Children, Amelie, A Very Long Engagement) has signed on to cowrite and direct the film adaptation of The Life of Pi, the award winning book by Yann Martel. The book concerns a boat trip a boy takes with a tiger. ?At one point, M. Night Shyamalan (Six Sense, Unbreakable, The Village) was offered the film, but turned it down to work on his next original work, The Lady in the Water.
