DUNST Confirms SPIDER-MAN 3 Villains!!

Oops! In an interview with Zap2It.com, Kirsten "Mary Jane" Dunst confessed the identities of two villains from the upcoming "Spider-Man 3." After naming names, she said, "Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that." Yesterday we reported that one of the villains was all but confirmed, but Dunst's confession is the most solid evidence yet.

"We have really great people though as the villains in this film, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace--Venom and Sandman," Dunst said.

The article does go on to say that she has not seen a script yet, but she confirmed Thomas Haden Church will be playing Sandman and Topher Grace will be playing Venom--details that she had backwards until pressed by the interviewer.

Venom was always my favorite Spider-Man foe, so the news is exciting, but I hope they don't muck the film up by having too many villains for Spider-Man to juggle--Venom, Sandman and Hobgoblin were rumored. Two is plenty.

Either way, it's a solid source (discounting the fact that she has not seen a script and that at first she said Church is playing Venom and Grace is plaing Sandman and then changed her mind), so when "Spider-Man 3" is released the Summer of 2007, it looks like we'll probably see at least Venom and Sandman. Filming begins this January.

Wait a minute......Topher Grace as Venom????? Can there possibly be worse casting?
If Grace is playing Venom I would seriously consider not seeing the film.

kirsten dunst is straight up ugly. there is nothing at all attractive about her.  i do think she is a good pick for mary jane, though, shes done fine in the last two, and consistency is key by the third installment. any hoter of an actress though, and it wouldnt be that believable. in this day and age, hot bitches really dont get with nerdy photo geeks in highschool. mary jane truly loves pete parker, but if she were any hotter in the movies, she would only be with him cause hes got powers.

Pish Posh, this is just a rumor.  There is no way in hell Sam Raimi would pick that guy to play Venom.  

It sounds like Sandman will be a sure villain.  

Hypothetically speaking, having both of these characters in the same movie is kind of redundant.

They both can project objects out of their body and use them as weapons!!

2 villains is enough, unless they have in the opening scene Spider-Man killing off the Green Goblin right in the beginning.

Has anyone considered that the facts at hand could be misinformation.(a common studio tactic on a movie this size)  I can only see Raimi casting Topher Grace as Venom if they are going for more of an "Ultimate Spiderman" angle rather than a classic view.  But that isn't really Raimi's style is it?  It would be best if Thomas Hayden Church is Venom & Topher Grace is Carnage. That would make more sense as well for having 3 villians.(lets face it Raimi didn't add Harry's mental & financial decline as well as that long scene in Spiderman 2 where he finds the Glider & such if he wasn't going to go somewhere with it. So a Goblin, be it Hob or Green, is pretty much a given)  Sandman & Venom are 2 completely unrelated characters in the comic books & the combo frankly doesn't make much sense. I think this rumor will turn out to be false. Dunst is just acting the Dunce. Rumors like this get fans like us BSing & generating a buzz early on. It keep us preoccupied & it keeps the plot behind their very valuable commodity a secret. We'll just have to wait & see.

venom wont be in the SM3 movie, hes already got one in the works. With carnage as the villian too. Venom wont be a good guy, but not as evil as carnage.

Also, my bets that goblin will be in this movie, but not in the way you think.

DUH!!! Its obvious harry is going to become green goblin in sp3 because of the end of sp2. Question is, will harry fight with spidey, or will he destroy him and "avenge" his father? I read somewhere that for the movie, topher grace dyed his hair and eyebrows blond, so i think that he will wither play ben reilly and take over for tobey, or he will play eddie brock, but from the ultimate storyline. That version was peter's childhood friend, both thier fathers created a suit that would cure cancer...
Eddie Brock was all thin and small like topher is, but Ultimate Venom is a huge monster.
In all the movies, the villian develops a relationship with peter before they turn bad, so that is what might happen for the third movie.

I belive they should cast Danny Glover or Samuel L Jackson as venom. both actors will play the part the best and are two of the best actors now adays, and as for the sand man, they should cast Bob Saget. Then the movie will kick butt

i think there are gonna be at least three villains. venom, sandman, and green goblin just to end the franchise if they keep on going they are going to suck like batman or superman or star wars. the franchise could continue with a venom film you know facin carnage. also, black cat was supposed to come out in spiderman 2. maybe in part 3 she helps out spidey and then another spinnoff movie could happen carrying the spidey universe a bit more.

Venom is definitely the best pick for the movie because I've been waiting for this for a long time, but Grace? They gotta at least bulk that kid up like they did with Tobey to make it somewhat close to the character. Even if they did that I doubt it would look good. Plus the Sandman? COME ON! They should at least do the Lizard since Conners was in the 2nd movie. All I know is that I hope spiderman gets to wear the venom suit before Brock gets it. They better not fuck it up like they did with the Gobin suit. WTF!

And who said Samuel L. Jackson should play venom? They need a bitch slap for that one.
