RUMOR MILL: Who Will Be The New JOKER?

Batman on Film is reporting--through two of its most "reliable" sources--that producers are considering only two actors to play the Joker in the upcoming sequel to "Batman Begins." Who could it be? Why, Lachy Hulme and Paul Bettany, of course. Click over to see some artist conceptions of what these two guys may look like in the role.

Paul Bettany played Dr. Stephen Maturin in "Master in Commander." He'll also play the heavy in 2006's "The Da Vinci Code." Here is what Bettany might look like as the Joker.

Lachy Hulme played Sparks in "The Matrix Revolutions" and Robert Wheeler in "The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course." Oh yeah, that settle it for me. Here is what Hulme might look like as the Joker.

He's busy having a great voice, but the wrong look.

Always thought Adrian Brody would make a good Joker. A good actor and has more of the classic comic book Joker look - long face, big nose, long smile.

joker is batmans best nemesis.i just wanna say the its a shame about shoemachers batman films...he used up all the great bad guys(now joker might be used again)and of course ruined the films with robin.and bat girl? that was a real load of crap!!! 8 villians,batgirl all inside of 4 films...bummer.

well said... mark hamill for the Joker......   the great evil voice from the cartoon as well as cult status as an actor and well theres not more he is just by far the only actor who could pull it off in my view...

Why do people think Mark Hammil has the wrong look for the Joker??  Is there a RIGHT look??  I, for one, think he would be widely embraced as the Joker.  Plus that voice IS the freakin Joker for cryin out loud.  Like Jack Nicholson had the "right look" ....Please....

Mark Hammil would make an awesome Joker.  Long Live the Gyver

I think Joaquin Phoenix would be the right guy to play The Joker, he?s got demented look and he is a pretty good actor

Sorry, I've got an actor to beat them all, Vince Vaughn... the laugh, the smile, the raw humor, the insanity and intensity, he's got it all. Now he's just got to lose some weight.

I have to agree I think both Steve Buscemi or Adrain Brody would make good jokers.  Def. NOT Johnny Depp.  They both have "the look" and are both talented actors!
