Philip Pullmans, His Dark Materials trilogy has been in various development stages ever since the Harry Potter fad happened. At first, Chris Weitz (About a Boy, In Good Company) had signed on and was writing a script. Then Weitz pulled out and after an exhautive search, Anand Tucker (Hilary and Jackie, upcoming Shopgirl) has signed on and Weitz has agreed to continue writing the script.
