You might have known, or might have guessed, that a film version of the audience pleasing musical (based on Mel Brook's 1968 film) was already in production. Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane star, Uma Thurman and Will Ferrell costar in the film which was shot entirely on sound stages in New York city last spring. USA Today scored a set visit and talks movie musicals with the cast.

Matthew Broderick instead of Lee Evans? Lee was so perfect in that role, why go for Mr Bland?
