Based on true events, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is the tale of the court trial of a priest that supposedly performed an exorcism on a college student who may have been possessed. This is trailer is fucking freaky and if the film is half as good (not always, ok hardly ever the case) it could be one of the scariest flicks since Lil' Bowwow's, Like Mike. Check it.

I think that it is an inspiring story. To believe that it acually happened for real is like.. wow.. Never knew that the devil or a demon could like.. I dunno; possess someone. Can't wait to see it. OH and a movie doesn't have to have nude seens to be good!

It's this simple. We all know that good exists, we've all experienced it, is it that inconceivable that evil exists? Do you always need solid proof that something exists before it can? I know that my parents loved me very much,...can't put my hands on it,..or take a picture of it,..but I know that their love existed. Not one of those things that I had to take with a leap of faith.

I invited my friend to sleepover one night and I thought it would just be like any other night but she proceeded to tell me and another friend that she had been trying to pass out one night by holding her breathe with some other people because they were bored or something and she thought she passed out and she can't remember anything else but the next day the people that were with her told her everything she did. Her eyes rolled in the back of her head and they were white. She never blinked, she was screaming at the top of her lungs and she was talking dirty and swearing in a raspy voice. She would spit in the face of the other people there and then then it would be like she came back and her eyes would go back to normal and she would say one of the people's name with her in her own voice then her eyes would go back and she would have the raspy voice and she would start swearing again and that kept happening over and over again. Then she told me and my other friend that we shouldn't talk about it anymore because if you acknowledge the demons and talk about them it would be more likely to happen. Me and my friend wanted to know more though because we never have heard of this before and she told us that she was like the girl on the exorcist that was possessed and stuff but I had never watched the exorcist. Then all of a sudden she just stopped talking. We said her name and asked wut was wrong and her eyes rolled back and her arms were out to her side like she was grabbing something and she started making weird noises and faces. Me and my friend just screamed because we had no idea wut to do. We went to get my friend's mom and she slowly came out of it about 5 or 10 minutes after. That was the scariest thing that ever happened to me and I couldnt sleep and I was afraid to go anywhere because it could happen to me but I got over it eventually. I recently watched the exorcist because I wanted to see if my friend was like the girl in it but it so much scary in life because it looks so fake in the movie and your just like yeah whatever but it is soooo scary. Im not trying to scare anyone I just wanted to share my story.

Seriously. I definately believe in demons and evil.
I believe that demons will posess you only if you are very prone to it. I think that you can be prone to posession in two ways
1) You believe in heaven and hell with a full heart and know evil is all around, and there is alot of evil in you. a demon might make you a target because it sees into your evil and can use it as an energy to stay in you and have moor controlling power in you.
2) That you are very religious and pray every night and all of that, If satan knows you are to go to heaven, i believe he might try to get you back on the road to hell by posessing you. The demon may try to scare you into succumbing to hell's evil and turning you away from salvation.
Tell me what you guys think about that.

I came home with two of my buddies after a night of drinking, and had the scariest experience of my life! My buddy had drank a 40 and a 22 of Mickey's malt liquor, and had went to the bathroom. I went to my bedroom and crashed out, while my other buddy went into the living room and slept on the couch. I fell asleep for like 2 hours, and woke up to find that my friend was still in the bathroom. Finding it rather odd, I decided to go and check on him. Lo and behold, he was in there, with his eyes shut, laying on the bathroom floor. My jaw fell as he lay before me, passed out, a terd floating in the toilet, with his little pecker hanging out! I screamed in horror! I woke up my other friend, and made him help me pick up the idiot stick, and pull up his pants. In the morning, I went to observe the damage, and found a poo streak on the floor next to where the idiot had passed out. After making him clean up the streak, the idiot puked continuously for the rest of the day. The worst thing about it was that the idiot only drank 62 oz of beer....what a homo. Quite a horrific night indeed.

Hell is very real. I've read a book about a middle aged woman who was taken to hell in her sleep by Jesus's spirit. Many of you may not believe me, but we're all entitled to our own opinion.
The book is called "The Divine Revalation of Hell" by Mary K. Baxter. She states that hell is made up of a human body. Hell enlarges it self every day. I was surprised after reading this book because it really wakes you up. Here are some of the passages from the book.
In the next pit was the soul of a man wrapped in its skeleton form, crying out to Jesus. "Lord he cried, "help me to understand why I am here."
"Let me out, and I will be good," the man begged.
The Lord said to him, "Even in hell you are still lying."
Jesus then turned to me and said, "This man was 23 years old when he came here. He would not listen to my gospel. He heard my word many times and was often in my house. I drew him by My Spirit unto salvation, but he wanted the world and its lust."
"He was killed instantly. He would not listen to my call. Others were also killed in the accident. Satan's work is to kill steal and destroy. If only this young man had listened!It is not the fathers will that any should perish. Satan wanted this man's soul, and he destroyed it through carelessness, sin and strong drink. Many homes and lives are destroyed every year because of alcohol."
Well there you have it! Hell and its demons are real, but it was made for Satan and his angels. So humans can be possessed demonically through drugs and other sinful acts.

Also you can add the fact that exorcisms are real. The box office's object may be to scare viewers instead of spreading the truth. Who really knows at this point?

I'm sorry you feel that way about our Lord. To respond to your statement that we are all forgiven ... and suggesting we don't need to bother trying to be good anymore since we are all going to heaven anyway ... study the teachings of Paul (that would be the books AFTER the gospels) it is very clear from these books that it is still very possible to go to hell. As for the story being fake, not so friend. Yes, Hollywood does have a way of embellishing things (by adding levitation and all those wonderful horror effects) but the true life story of Anneliese Michel (the basis for this movie) is well documented and actually led to the abandonment of the traditional exorcism rites (established in the 1600's) for a new model which was ordained for use by the current pope. Been done many times ... perhaps you've heard of a controversial Mel Gibson movie called 'The Passion of the Christ'? It's an awesome relaying of the story of the final 12 hours of His life. There are many other movies available that tell the stories of His childhood and the ministry years (the canonized scriptures [those accepted by numerous councils including the Council of Nicea and the emperor Constantine prior to 300 A.D.] are silent on the years from ages 12-30, although there are other writings available that do cover some facts of this time).

If you are so interested in religious stories, you should read the christian apokryphal stories, they are just as old (some even older) as the so called canonical stories, but they were kept secret and they were never read in front of the common people who couldn't read, later these christians became angry with it and labeled these secret books as fake, although they are just the same as the other books who are accepted.
As for Jesus being an asshole was about the story you quoted a while ago, wich was fictional as the real Jesus WOULD forgive people who asked for it. But I think you refuse to get that.
AND I still don't believe God still punishes people these days, the soul must make a learning experience out of every life it goes through and sin doesn't exist for a soul.

In the Catholic Church, an exorcism is not really allowed until a full psychological evaluation has taken place. The Church understands that a person may be mentaly ill (such as paranoid schizophrenia) and seeing a doctor is the best way to treat that person. The Church pretty much knows if someone is possesed or not.

I don't believe you can rule out that someone is schizofrenic, those personalities have their own memories sometimes, and it is extremely difficult to get rid of them, only with intense therapy. But what if that personality claims he is the devil, if the person believes he/she (women get psychoses much easier) has the devil inside, the whole being can actually take over the person.

No argument here buddy! I also believe your spirit goes to heaven along with your soul. Besides, as chistians we should spend our time spreading the truth to the world. Sometimes we forget that we as christians are here for the world. It's not a one for one. It's a one for all. (Talking from Jesus's point of view while he was on earth.) As christians we are commanded to be like Jesus.
I'm sure the non-christians on the line have reasons why they decided to do the things they do. Not to say the reasons are right. For example, one may say "No one has really ever talked about Christ in or home". At the same time that individual may reject Jesus, because he has experinced being fed false doctrine. Ofcourse there are many other reasons why the world neglects Christ.
To remedy a argument about false doctrine. I would say the solution would be to read and meditate on the Bible. So when the pastor ministers on something, you would know where it's coming from (God or Satan).
By the way, Satan does have the power to possess a pastor into preaching false doctrin. That's all part of the game. His objective is to blind people there whole lives. So when a sinner dies without knowing God he's bed would be in hell. Then that person would be just another soul that Satan stole. I know the truth can be "hard core" ,but in the long run it'll set you free.
If you believe you are a christian or otherwise and don't believe in demons read Luke 8:26-39. It talks about a man possessed by demons.
Also, when I was younger I had an experince seeing some form of the supernatural. My family and I had stayed in some apartments that where in decent condition. After a while my mother said she noticed a dark presence around the community. (women are more sensitive to evil and good spirits. Part of the reason is because the devil hates women. One of the reasons why is, because women have the ability to give birth. It's 2 deep we won't get in to that.)
My parents would argue constantly. This was all orchestrated by the demonic realm. I finally realized that after I was older. My dad would say some crazy things like he would kill my mother with a knife. He was a God fearing man, but was being controled by an evil force. My mother finally moved out. Then I would visit my dad often. One night after he had read me something from the bible, I fell asleep while he was reading. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw two spiritual humans standing in front of our libary. Both of them had ragged clothes and looked homeless. They seemed to be talking to each other in a quiet manner. After they realized I had awaken they looked at me. That sent chills through me, I beleive they where talking about me. We had a dim lamp on top of the libary's shelf. After seeing that I ran to my dad's room and told him. Then I came back and they where gone.
This experience aslo convinced me that there are evil spirits. I think evil spirits are more prone to children, because they're so innocent. Well I've said enuff 4 now. I hope this message will leave one in sin to repentance. Much love to everyone! -PEACE-

The christian apocryphal was and still is part of the cannon. They were never kept secret. But, you are right that most of the people at that time could not read. I think the old books that you are talking about is the, so called, gnostic gospels. Those writings were not the inspired word of God but something someone made up (fake as you put it).
As for God punishing people, I don't think he goes out of his way to punish anyone but he does allow evil to happen to just about anyone. He also provides help to those who may have been a victem to an evil act. God will ensure that good comes out of evil. We continue learn from it and hopefuly lead a holy life. Don't be fooled. His punishment is eternal death. A complete separation of the unrepentent sinner from God. I think at that point the unrepentant sinner realises the loss and realises the emense pain involved in that eternal separation. Ultimately, it really is the person's say wether they go to heavan or hell.

You're right. One cannot rule out that a person may be scizophrenic. The Catholic Church realises that as well. The Church knows very well about mental illneses. If a person tells a priest that they're possesed and that they need to be exorcized, the priest will know that the person is probably just mentally ill and not possesed. Now if that same person is showing extrordinary or super-human strength, and they know things about others that absoulutly have not been revealed to anyone, there is a chance that person may be posessed. There is definatly something wrong if the one in questioned is revealing things (usually embarrasing things)that was not told to anyone. I wonder if the CIA and the FBI is posessed?

Alot of ppl think that possesion happens to just random people for no reason.but there wrong, the reason being is that it has to do with what you are thinking and how your body is reacting to your thoughts if the right thoughts go through your mind which are usually bad thoughts such as death or any thing of a negitive matter you are more likely to become under the influence or the devil or his servints. I know a little about diabolical possesion. I know if you play around with the occult or anything dealing with it, you open yourself up to the possibility of being possessed. As for thatgirl at the sleepover, I don't know if she was possesed or not. Mental illness is a good possibility. Drugs or excessive alcohol is a possibility. I remember being in the dorm one wednesday night and someone a couple of rooms down, who had been drinking quite heavily that night, was pretty much dragged into his room for the night. It took quite a few people to hold him down. His voice was a bit creapy that night. Some of the others were a bit frightened by his actions. Some thought he was possesed. No. He just had way too much to drink that night. Some hear of others freaking out on pcp's or whatever they're called. The police sometimes have a very difficult time dealing with someone "dusted" up. They may have bizare behavior and/or extra strength. Someone might confuse that with being possesed, but that's just drug abuse. These are the things that have to be ruled out before even thinking of exorcisms. Now if you know someone who is suddenly speaking fluently in some languege that they could not possibly learn in a moments time and/or they are telling things about you that you have not revealed to anyone and it's usually something discrediting or embarrasing or they're levatating, then this might be a case to look into, especially if you know for sure that person has been dabbling with the occult. Again, the Church investigates these things before giving any exorcist the go ahead to do an exorcism. It's true that a writer will take a literary license and embellish a script to help tell a story. In the movies, that happens quite often. Some of these movies are based on fact. Aparently, The Exorcism of Emily Rose was based on a case that took place in Germany in the late '60's through the mid '70's. The movie The Exorcist was based on a well documented case of a demonic possesion of a young boy in the Georgetown area of Washington D.C. in the late 1940's. This I do know. Lucifer a.k.a. Satan, hates us. He hates life. He hates all humans. He love to see us destroyed. He will do what he can to destroy us. He hates all of mankind. One of his best weapons against us is not possesing someone. One of his best weapons against us is to have us believe he doesn't exist. There is so much more about the subjects of demonic possesion and mental illness that one probably needs to either major in one of the subject or take classes in the other. Enjoy the movie but remember to always keep God in the center of your life.

I have to admit that finding this little discussion has absolutely entertained me tonight. I swear, I don't understand where some of you get this information that you just throw out and claim to be "fact."
Also, I thought I may give a small grammar lesson for the night. "Your" signifies possesion (ownership). "You're" is a contraction made from the two words "you" and "are." Just thought i would let you all know that when you say "your fucking stupid." you're saying that they posses the fucking stupid. I believe that's all we have time for tonight! Sleep well, folks.
