Pulling in and estimated $26.8m, Batman Begins continued to perform well over the weekend. ?Ferrell and Kidman's, Bewitched didn't do half bad either, making $20m, but watch for a large drop off ?next weekend (by then, the it-really-did-suck buzz will have sunk in). ?The industry still bemoans a slumping box office this summer. ?War of the Worlds opens Wednesday and should blow all others out of the water.
As long as they continue to promote the them-not-us attitude when asked why people aren't going to the movies, Hollywood movies will continue to be 75% marketing, 15% casting, and 10% story and direction. ?Bastards. ?
