Mike Landberg gave a really detailed review of Zowie Intertainment's new toy, Redbeard's pirate quest. The idea is pretty cool, a big ship with four figures that are tracked by the computer by plugging into the serial port and keyboard. The program does stuff in response to where you put the figures and what buttons you push on the ship. But he said it's really repetitive, and doesn't provide any challenges and has a pretty lame storyline. There are also some pretty lame dialogue like "Turn her into the wind and sail!" (think about it) and "Treasure could be buried on that island!" while referring to a floating whale. And the only game things in it sound pretty lame. Read more...

True, tacking does go into the wind, but I and the guy that wrote that article was thinking directly into wind, which doesn't work that well unless you have a motor and a big enough boat :)
