COACH CARTER Smacks Elektra At Box Office!

Samuel L. Jackson's, Coach Carter flick about a tough basketball coach easily won its debut weekend. ?Coach earned $23.6m while the other large film opening, Elektra, made only $12.5m.

Topher Grace's new flick (co-starring Scarlett Johansson) did well during its first week of expanding to more screens.

4. "In Good Company," $13.9 million.

5. "Elektra," $12.5 million.

6. "White Noise," 12.2 million.

8. "Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events," $4 million.

9. "The Phantom of the Opera," $3.55 million.

10. "Ocean's Twelve," $2.9 million.
