In an interview with Terri Gross on NPR's "Fresh Air," actor Paul Reubens ("Pee Wee's Big Adventure") discusses some upcoming projects, including two more "Pee Wee Herman" films and a western for Showtime. ?Come listen to the full interview!
Reubens talks about the two scripts he has for the "Pee Wee" movies, describing the types of films that each will be.
One of the scripts is "basically 'Pee Wee's Playhouse' the movie," Reubens said. ?"It's sort of an epic 'Wizard of Oz' adventure film."
The film would star all of the characters from the televsion show, which won 22 Emmys, ran for five years, and launched his career.
The script that Reubens believes will be made into a film first, however, is somewhat darker than the children's show. ?"It's kind of the 'Valley of the Dolls' 'Pee Wee' movie," he said.

Hooray! He's back! I cannot say enough of how overdue this is! Paul Reubens is not guilty of anything but stepping outside of the closed emotaioal box that most males live in and express his comic genius. We missed you Pee Wee!

Paul Reubens is great.. We just baught all his movies and shows for our children. I grew up watching pee wee.. And my daughters are also.. They Love him!!! As did I growing up. I would alot rather them watch pee wee than most of the other trash that is out there today!!! Welcome Back PEE WEE!!!

What's everyone going on about Peewee being a perv or whatever? He's just a nice man who entertains children. When I was young me and my friend used to go and play with a kind old man but the authorities took him away. I can tell you now it was completely harmless, he used to do magic tricks and stuff for us all the time. He used to sit in the armchair and place a top hat on his lap and we all took it in turns to reach in and stroke the rabbit. The poor thing was scared stiff alot of the time though, one time I even made it throw up. The point is that there are too many do gooders around trying to give decent people bad reputations.
