From the producer of "Spider-Man," "X-Men," "Hulk," "Blade," and just about every other big-screen, comic-book adaptation, comes "Iron Man," the story of billionaire Tony Stark and his invincible suit of yellow and red armor.
According to Variety, Nick Cassavetes ("John Q") has signed on to direct the film, which is due out in 2006. ?There is no word on casting at this time.
"Iron Man" is written by David Hayter ("X-Men).

Oh pleeeeeease....not Tom Cruise as Iron Man. In fact Tony Stark should be played by an unknown. Not one of the Hollywood egos.
Personally, I think that most superhero choices have been pretty bad e.g. Ben Affleck and Toby Maguire both spring to mind as very poor choices.

Toby Maguire was perfect as Spiderman, who would you have prefered? Vin Diesel?
