This poll is purely a test

The poll regarding a news con '00 is more of a test just to see if there is any interest in the idea of a news convention for all of the small news sites; DT, GN, Wonko and any others who wish to attend.?Of course there is no actual plan for a con at this point, but by your comments on this story, and reactions to the poll, we can see if it's possible.

We try to merge it into the pdx 2600 meeting so that we get a added audience of 4, and then we all sit around and say. Wow, mine does something like that, only in [Asp][PHP][[perl]. Uh, I get news from wired sometimes. It could be fun, but I doubt it. Now, if phester got really big, and there was like a developer's con to make it cooler than slashdot, (not that that would be too hard, the only thing you can see on it now are banner ads and a perl error), then maybe that would be kinda cool.

Hehehe...all too true. What, really, do our sites do differently other than run in different scripting environments? We all seem to crosspost stories on occasion. :)

But a con would be fun, nevertheless. Hell, if nothing else, we could just have a Q3A fragfest or something.
