Okay, I know Anderson has a passion for the series, and I can respect that, but come on!
The story behind AVP is all visuals and no content. AVP lacks the depth that makes the first 3 alien films so good. (Yes, I know that there are very few supporters behind Alien 3, but the acting was incredible and the characters were fascinating and memorable, considering.)
Do we want Alien 5 to follow in the footsteps of AVP? Hell No!!
It seems to me that Hollywood has decided to crash and burn the franchise.
This is a greedy move by FOX to maximize profits. Let's face it, the only reason Anderson continues to find work is because he is cheap. It bewilders me that FOX somehow manages to continue to ignore all the negative stigma attached to Andersons name.
This move is a slap in the face to all fans of the series.

Look, Alien and for that matter Predator can be made into great movies again, it's just that the studios can't be half assed about it and hire some brainless hack to direct a cliche and unoriginal turkey.

AVP wouldn't have been a classic if we had blood and gore, would it? And it wasn't a 12A, it was a 15.
I liked it. Sure, most of the characters are underdeveloped, if developed at all, and it was way too short, but I got what I paid to see. Also, Saana Lathan really suprised me as Lex.
I liked Resi Evil, AVP and Mortal Combat, but I do agree that Anderson simply cannot be trusted with this franchise. Ridley Scott has expressed interest in directing, and James Cameron said he's working on a screenplay.
If these kings of the franchise agree to make Alien 5, why in God's name would the studio give it to Anderson? It's pure insanity, I tell you.
Alien 5 ??

i reckon paul anderson better leave Alien 5 for someone else to direct, he did a terrible job of AvP, even though the plot was good, the predators where made to be pussies as they got beat up to quick, it only had 1 fight scene worth watching and the gore factor was below the franchise standard. there should have been more fights worthy of calling it "AvP"...the alien where at there ruthless best, but the preds where wimps. Hopefull the way it ended its set up fora good sequel I hope. Any way back to alien 5, anderson better stay away from it, otherwise he will ruin the alien franchise completey.
I will pay up to $30000 for his death...

Seriously. Audiences over the world should shell out and hire a squad of hitmen to violently torture and slowly murder WS Anderson, Uwe Boll, Stephen Sommers, Renny Harlin, "Pitof", McG and that rusky ivan who directed that piece of crap "Night Watch". The world would be so much better without these lice.

Yeah, But im not too sure if Peter Jackson has enough love of the series. It takes passion and a good writer, plus a well-performed play to make a masterpiece. I dont have anything against Anderson, but you are all right, the old Alien films had you sort of shitting yourselves, and before they reached the planet in the 2nd film u were sort of worried about what was to come. Also, keeping the threat discreet is good. In the Halo books (Fall Of Reach/First Strike) The Covenant seem mysterous and unknown, in AVP its mainly eye-candy, and in AVP i dont have any 'relationship' with the characters. A good strong realationship is key. I might make screenplays when im older ;)
I suppose if Fox chooses Andersons' script we could start a protest? Sort of 'flood' them with requests to let Cameron or someone else to do it. Anderson CAN do it but please man if he does (And if your readin this man,) plz put more effort into it
thankyou!

Alien vs predator is a movie that mixes both races together, when your as big of a fan as i u begin to understand that these 2 races have a huge history with eachother, until avp-movie my only resources to find these were games and novels.. avp started of as a novelty game im sure of this, however some writers picked up on this and made a history between the two.. to be perfectly honest the whole race of xenomorph have become a mess and hard to orginize, this makes developing a movie including both rather difficult, i noticed slight differences in the avp movie for eg: lex enters the alien hive.. where are the sentry aliens? basically im sticking up for paul anderson.. The general idea of avp is not to show the viewer the depth of the xenomorph which is potraited in the alien movies, but to show the audience that the races are linked and that they have a history, this is becuase he probably wanted to show people and help them understand about them.. i mean how many people who watch the alien movies ever picked up a novel or comic or game?
point made: avp isnt for alien, its for alien and predator, hence the name...
btw have u ever heard of the pilot race? coz if u havnt u shudnt call yourself true alien fans

You people say you hate Anderson for what he did with AVP, but it wasn't his fault. His intension was to make a bloody movie with more of a plot to give fans what they deserved, but Fox said they want it PG-13 instead of R. Blame fox, not Anderson. If you think he was so bad, see Resident Evil. I thought he did a good job, even though most ideas were taken off older movies.

Well, I blame Fox AND Anderson. I mean, if it had been Cammeron directing and he'd been given all these restictions he'd have still come up with something that at least had a good story and exciting set-pieces.

Personally, I think if you just got some comic book nerd who was a huge fan of Aliens and Predators but had no experience of making movies he could still probably come up with something better than the pile of shit that Anderson cooked up.

On second thought, if it had been Cammeron and he'd been given all of these restrictions by the studio, knowing him he'd probably have just walked. However, I'm sure there were plenty of directors out there who would have stuck it out AND delivered a great movie.

After the down fall of Alien Resurrection and AVP I don't believe we will see an Alien 5..though it would be nice...the move franchise is so big from these films, especially the first 2 that is is impossible to try an rebuild an orginal move..it has to fall inline with the other films but it also has to stand on its own, each movie so far falls inline with the evoluation of the company and the alien, but the orginality is dried up...to be orginal and new for this series will never happen..it saddens me to say that too beacuse i'm a huge alien fan and i would love to see alien 5 but i dont think nothing can make it better...if u use the diretors from the first movie or the second one u might just get a copy of that..and after all we did see alien how many times now..why remake it...i honeslty do know of any way for the saga to continue with out being boring.

Just what the HELL is wrong with Fox? Granted, AvsP was cool for it's action scenes, but absolutely nothing more, it was a crap movie with crap story that merely satisfied my desire to see Predators and Aliens fight.
Fox has already ruined the Alien saga with Alien 3 (Great way to totally ruin the characters of one of the best directors of all time, you fucking assholes) and Alien Ressurection (What a joke.)
I had heard rumors that Cameron was to write the story for Alien 5, and have Ridley Scott direct it, however, he refused if Aliens vs. Predator was to be made. Thanks alot for ruining what would have been the best horror-action film of all time, Fox.
And now at least we're still getting an Alien 5 it seems. However, why the hell are they bringing on Paul Anderson! God! Do these people know the integrity the first two films had! This is a travesty, a tragedy, a god damn shame. Anderson is a notoriously SHITTY director who has NO RIGHT to direct this movie.
This movie deserves, and necessarily MUST be the sequel that SAVES THE SERIES. Putting Anderson at the helm may get the film to #1 for a week or two, but you're also going to see a VERY huge fanbase piss and moan for the rest of time about how shitty it was compared to Aliens.
The only way this movie can be done right is if James Cameron, Ridley Scott, and Sigourney Weaver all work together to create an amazing, dramatic story interwoven with deep characters, good camerawork, top notch effects, and true, believable human emotion. This was found in Alien and Aliens.
THIS is what people want, Fox. THIS is what we want. We've always wanted this since 1986 when Aliens first came out. Please, just do us a damn favor and put someone responsible at the helm.
It's almost like Fox doesn't even care about the horrendous feedback they get from thousands and thousands (If not millions) of dissapointed and furious Aliens fans.
Not like I expect too much of Fox though - One of the worst corporations around.
Hollywood 5 minute shite!

What is with all these throw-away movies being produced?! Can't anyone make a decent movie these days??
Forget cgi, forget stupid senseless action, drop the F!^#$*ng hand held camcorder style shooting (NYPD blue has a lot to friggen answer for!!)
Bring back some quality acting with well thought out plot and action scenes.
1 kilo of quality acting is worth 50 kilo of action scenes.
PLEASE HOLLYWOOD!! RE THINK YOUR STRATEGIES I loved the first two Alien movies. I liked the third...... The rest were shite....Please don't screw up alien 5!
Why... oh, god, why...

AHHHH!!!!!!!! goddamnit, you need to STOP APPEALING TO THE MASSES! The Alien series has such a great reputation and such an amazing depth to what they have created in the first three films, that if they just pay some guy to write up a script and expect it to follow along with the amazing legacy they created in the previous films, except for Ressurection and AVP, you're going to get more mindless, big-action/no-plot, droning BULLSHIT! There is NO POINT to making another sequal if they aren't going to auctally put some effort into it, and try to make it follow the legacy already previously created by those first movies. WHY DOES THE AMERCIAN CINEMA SUCK!?!??!! WHY!?!?! People have lost their imagination and can only make movies out of old books, comics, video games, and cartoons. It's bullcrap. People need to start making their OWN ideas, and getting them made into movies. Screw the remakes, screw the sequels, and screw the prequels. I'm sick and tired of this crap. I wanna see something new and original, or I swear I'm gonna die. RAWR! blarginhoff! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! *bites*
