RAIMI on ASH and SPIDEY!!!

In an interview with Latino Review, director Sam Raimi ("Spider-man" movies, "A Simple Plan," "Evil Dead" movies) discussed the "Freddy VS Jason VS Ash" rumors that have been fueled by legitimate (Variety, The Hollywood Reporter) as well as unreliable (us, you) sources. ?Also, news on the future of Spider-Man!

Raimi said that there will be no "Freddy VS Jason VS Ash." ?"I didn't want to be in a position where I was protecting Ash, the character that I want to eventually make another movie with one day, protecting him and not allowing the director to do what he felt he had to do."

In addition to feeling protective about his character, Raimi said that he wasn't sure that "Freddy VS Jason" was the proper film for Ash at all. ?"I wanted to give the fans what they want with that. It's hard to know what the fans want with that, if that was the proper treatment. I just don't know. I don't think so. As fun as that sounded, I think they're in two different worlds."

Raimi also revealed that "Spider-Man 3" was to be the last film in that series. ?Apparently, Amy Pascal (Chairman of Columbia Pictures) would like to have a definitive finale where all the loose ends from the previous films are tied up.

Raimi said, "One thing that Amy Pascal told me was that she wants to make this a proper ending to the 'Spider-Man' saga. I'd like to keep directing 'Spider-Man' movies but I think she's thinking that the audience feels they want to see one more and no more. They want to have a proper ending to the story now. So I think maybe she's right, and so I'm approaching it under her guidance and that's how I'm trying to think of this film as the end."

As for that ending, Raimi did not say exactly where the characters were headed. ?What he did say regarding Harry Osbourne and his seemingly inevitable transformation to the Hobgoblin may surprise some fans. ?"I'm not sure what's in Harry's mind. I'm trying to figure that out right now. It's like if you blamed someone for the death of your father all these years and someone who was supposedly this hero, vigilante, and then you realized that your father was a mass murderer, it might change things."

Though the suggestion that Harry might not become Hobgoblin deviates from the comic books, Raimi has his reasons: "As much of a responsibility as I have to the fans of the comic books, I also have an equal responsibility to be true to the intelligence of the character as portrayed in the 'Spider-Man' movies. And Harry's a smart guy, even though he's sometimes weak and sometimes driven by insecurities and desire to live up to his father's image. He is an intelligent man, and so I can't deny that possibility."

Why the seemingly sudden change when both films have strongly suggested Harry's transformation is forthcoming? ?Perhaps knowing that the third film will be the last changes Raimi's overall plan for the characters and the storyline. ?Also, in previous films, taking the audience exactly where they felt they were being led was not a Sam Raimi trademark. ?Whatever he does with the story, fans should rest assured that Raimi will deliver a masterful finale that, when combined with the other two films in the series, will be the perfect size for a three-disk set plus one disk for bonus features.

i don't like it...i'd rather see another spiderman movie where there are loose ends than a final spiderman movie with everything ending perfectly because it Will Not Be Perfect!!!  there's just too much to spiderman to fit into a final two hours.  things will be weird.

First I want to see ASH kill Freddy and Jason so i can go to sleep at night. And what is this about protecting his ASH get the hell out of town Raimi. As for Spiderman all we want is VENOM! Thats it Raimi you Jackass!

I'm ahuge fan of all three franchises{evil dead, nightmare on elm street and friday the 13th). Their is alot of people who would love to see it happen. If the majority wants it....make it happen. In this day and age you have got to start giving the people what they want. The people want to see Jason vs. freddy vs. Ash.

i thin sam raimi is doing the right thing bye not letting ash be put in freddy vs jason2 but i read a report were he sed he dont think that michael myers is good to be in it because he is a real person! but isnt jason and ash and freddy? they are in the movies any way and i think that micheal would be alot better than ash! and i also think it is stupid to make a 3rd but final spiderman movie u cant just tie all the loose ends up that aint spiderman he has alot of ennemies and ur just gonna finish it? listen to the public man they will tell u that ur a fool if u finish spiderman off after the 3rd movie.

i dont see why ash wouldn't fit in with freddy and jason.i own all the evil deads and i just bought the friday thye 13th collection,plus ive sat through the nightmares.up until the freddy vs jason movie,none of them were really put up against worthy opponents,someone who would give them a real run for their money.and thats what people want to see.we are all bored of seeing one or two teenagers out of a group of a dozen just happen to outsmart the big-bad...we want to see a big drawn out battle between the big heavyweights of horror.so bring them together and let them hack it out the best way they now how.oh and please drop the whole kung-fu style fighting he did in the FvsJ.thank u

hey what in the hell you talking about first spider-man has over at least 10 villins in the comics if you stop making the movie at the 3rd then you are really fucking stupid give what the fans want and they want to keep making the hole spider-man movie set

ok once againg but ash in there he ant a baby he dont need to be protected by some fucking dumbass like you raimi if you do make this movie think about how much money you be making and what the fans want the first movie was rushed but take the time and this movie will be great or if not put michel myers in there oh yeah by the way who ever said that jason and freddy is also humans they are not they are spirits they already died michel didnt so hes the only human left put him in

Listen to the guy, he obviously knows what he's talking about or we all wouldn't be as in love with his creation as we are. As much as it pains me to say it, if Raimi doesn't think Ash will work in FvJ 2, it probably won't. And as dissappointed as I am to hear an end to the Spider-man series, perhaps it'll just bring that 4th Evil Dead movie all the faster. Mr. Raimi is one of the most talented directors out there, let him do his job.

spiderman has no real ending, it just has to much, to just end all of it, make it good and listen to what we say.
Cause we want a good movie not some ending of it all. And sam raime should be the helper.

Why Sam Raimi? Why wont there be a Freddy vs Jason vs Ash? cant you come up with something to have Ash in? Come up with a movie to have Ash in, how about Freddy vs Jason Ashes 2 Ashes make another movie with Ash many people love the Ash caracter so make the fans happy

like freddy getting revenge on jason then ash fights freddy but it ends in a draw
