Not a Fan of Bridget Jones

Personally, I don't want to see this movie whatsoever. I watched Bridget Jones Diary #1 and it totally turned me off. I can hardly even watch a Renee Zelleweger movie now without thinking how much I didn't like Bridget Jones and I actually I just don't like to even see Renee in any movie for that matter. But those of you who liked the first, the second one looks just like it, so go for it.

Yea I'd agree with that, if you liked the 1st then you'll probably like this as it looks the same. EXACTLY the same, I mean the two guys even get into another 'comic' fight in public again.

I can't see how you can dislike this film, its hillarious with its outragous lines and scenes.Renee plays the part so well and is a legendary actress

Personally, I thought the 1st one was shit but then there were many people who enjoyed it so that's fine. What I don't think is fine is that they are so lazy they can't even be bothered to make the sequel in the least bit original.
think it will be great

Well, the reason they can't be original with the second is because the second is also based off of a book. I really liked the first and am reading the second right now and I find it really amusing so I look forward to the 3nd movie!

well personally i think that the people who don't like the movie are in denial about there own lifes and they see bridgt as the person who they so badly want to be but will never have the chance walk in her shoes and find the love and so take that out on the movie.

Eh, actually some people just find the film pretencious and completely unfunny. And it seems that the author of these books is as lazy as michael Crichton when it comes to writing sequels.

yeah for sure cause i would hate to be in there shoes if this film flops which is highly unlikely because of all the promotion it has gain so far without even being relased yet. I just want to know that why would some people log on to a website for a certain film and then write how crappy it is and how bad the writers are because i my minds eye thats going to a whole lot of trouble over nothing really

Did I ever claim to be an author? There are, however many out there who are perfectly capable of writing a follow up to a popular book who manage to keep things fresh and original whilst taking the characters in interesting new directions. Apparently, the author of Bridget Jones is not one of them.

From reading the book and now seeing the trailer I am very dissapointed. I really enjoyed the 1st book and film but I have to agree that the sequel is too much of a rehash. Also, if people want to say how they don't like something it's just their opinion so you shouldn't have a problem with it.

i thought the first movie was quite enjoyable and refreshing. some brits and non, i s'pose, aren't too keen on the idea of an american actress portraying the life of a british woman. that, i believe, is where most of the disconent with bridget jones originates.
however, had the first one not been such a run-away success, there would be no sequel. the majority are eagerly awaiting its release. cannot wait, as it looks quite delicious.
sincerely,
member of majority

See thats just the thing you have only seen the trailer there is over an hour left.... so when you actually see the film then i think you should pass judgment cause thats just petty of reviewing something taht you haven't even seen.

i've read both books and can state clearly that the second book is not a complete rehash of the first -- except, of course, bridget's attitude, which is a given.
can't wait to see the sequel!

Look how well Shark Tale is doing at the moment, it's really popular yet the film itself is a complete pile of formulaic shit. Bridget Jones simply appeals to certain people because they see simularities to their own lifes in it. I don't happen to find it in the least bit funny or entertaining and you can see the ending coming a mile away. Just because you happen to like the film doesn't mean that my opinion is less valid or relivent.

I know what the story's going to be though, because i've read the book. The story is just too similar to the original in my opinion.

Why can't people just accept that not everyone enjoyed Bridget Jone's Diary? I went to see it with my girlfriend and neither of us laughed once. I don't care that an American actress played the part, I thought her accent was decent enough, it's just that didn't think it was funny.

God, not another formulaic chick flick, these movies are always exactly the same. 15 minutes before the end of the film the two lead chracters break up but then one realizes that he is in love after all so there's a mad rush to the airport to tell them how they feel before they fly off to 'very far away' and they'll never see them again. They get there but are just too late as the plane takes off but they turn round to see that their lover didn't get on the plane because they too realized they were in love and they kiss as everyone in the terminal applauds. I can't count the amount of times this or a variation of it has happened in a movie.

i don't know what kind of crack you are smoking but you are obviously not a woman who has been in any sort of situation like the charactor in this film or book because if you were you would completely understand where every other woman is coming from.
You obviously have never been in this type of situation but you need to understand what others are going through. Please be sympathetic to the baggege and bull shit that others deal with. If you have never dealt with thata I am truely sorry but you have obviously never lived you stupid person
