Child stars just NEVER seem to make out life the right way.
And this is even more hilarious, given the fact that he told a news station (earlier this year in an interview for his last movie) that he's 'not your avergage child star. "..I haven't been on porn, I don't do drugs, I'm living a normal life..." Hmm, someone was telling a BIG fib. ;

Jodie Foster has done alright for herself, so has Sean Austin and Kirsten Dunst and Elijah Wood. I wouldn't say child stars never make out life the right way.

Very rarely do they ever come out "okay". This a idea came to mind when I once watched an exclusive show on vh1 unveiling the true story behind more than enough children who once played parts oN hit t.v. shows. In one case, a child star (I forget her name), commited suicide! Children AND show biz do not work well. Or atleast 20 to 30 years ago, it didn't. Many them went into depression and got into the WRONG situations. Child stars don't have it as easy as your average celebrities.

Yea, but then many grown up celebrties wind up messed up. I think it depends more on the mental stability of the individual rather than their age.

A mug like that just startin out in showbiz wouldn't have a prayer...but culkin gets opportunities resting (stoned) on his childhood resume. Now that adult roles require "real" acting, word on the street is that lil' Mac can't act worth a shit. And thats where some child actors run into trouble--tryin' to make the transition and keep on, keepin on.
It's a tough biz, and those that can't stomach the pressure turn to drugs and alcohol. This is old news. The more things change, the more they remain the same. Blah Blah Blah.
