HERBIE: First Picture of the Bug!

ComingSoon.net has posted the first picture of the title character in Disney's "Herbie: Fully Loaded," which stars a car named Herbie, Matt Dillon ("There's Something about Mary"), and Lindsay Lohan ("Mean Girls").

The original Herbie appeared in "The Love Bug," which was released in 1968 and starred Buddy Hackett.

Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant of MTV's "The State" and Comedy Central's "Reno 911" wrote the script for "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and Angelina Robinson ("Chikula: Teenage Vampire") will direct. ?Lennon and Garant have been involved in some hit and miss projects--mostly hit--since "The State" was cancelled after two seasons on MTV (quite possibly the largest mistake MTV has ever made).

The film is due out in 2005.

Herbie in the original movies was a standard 1963 ragtop beetle sedan that appeared to not have been modified.In this image Herbie is a nascar. It does not appear to be the same to me
