Both Jet Li and Jackie Chan have been loosely attached to the project at times, but Stone says he's hoping to make a fresh start. ?"It will have plenty of 'A' list actors,...Our budget is good so we shouldn't have problem there." The film is reportedly budgeted at around $60 million. Tekken should start production in 2005.

that man who played Shang Tsung in
the first mortal kombat movie -
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa might make an
interesting Kazouya
"kazZy is a bad-boy after all!".
Zhang Ziyi should be LING Xiaoyu.....
definitly JACKY CHAN play lEI wOULONG...
"give Jacky that rockin' long ponytail!!"
-That terminator 3
lady might be able to pull a good Nina Williams
(cause she's gotta be stern and a bit emotionless since she lost her memory and stuff-
she should be damn deadly.ready to pluck someone's limbs out!!!!..and don't make her look like a stupid helpless slut-cause she's awesome
and psychotic!!)
Yoshimitsu should have a highly kick ass
supersuit -like always
-he should have cg effects to enhance his awesome moves!!
the story should be of a dark setting and very twisted!!

ok guys let's make things straight.lots of "A" stars will not make tekken film movie great.first of all you must found "A" STARS that now something about martial arts and they are not many.jet li is one of them, then jackie chan too(excellent for lei woulong-and his pony tail), mark dacascos , daniel bernardht , mike chat , cristina loken , donnie yen , zhang ziji , james lew and many more . But fore others you should make casting for real martial artists like Jerome le banner (paul)
I want the role of Jin

Here's my list for who I think would fit the roles of each character:
Jin: Me!! I'm serious I look just like him and I'm a new actor so they can pay me cheap. I work out everyday to perfect my body just like Jin's. I'm in great shape right now all I need is a wig to make my hair looks like Jin's since i have short spiked hair right now. My eyes nose facial structure ears and eyebrows looks just like Jin's. I was shocked when I saw him for the first time cuz I automatically compared myself to him since we look so alike. If any of the casting people happens to stumble upon this site call me at 714 724 7060 and I'll send my pics to prove my resemblance of Jin. Jin should be the Main character that possess the special powers everyone else is seeking. I aslo know martial arts so I'd be suitable for the role, plus I'm a huge Tekken fan. Die hard fan of Jin eversince the release of Tekken. My name is Brandon Le, so if anyone wants to see my pics let me know.
Heiachi: This guy from mortal kombat, hes about fifty years old now. He played one of the villians. He's been in a lot of movies always played the villian though. He looks just like Heiachi.
Hoawrang: Jet Li
Lei: Jackie Chan with the pony tail would be perfect.
Law: The guy that played Bruce lee's role after his death. It's not that hard to find an immitation of law.
Yoshimitsu: Steven Segal
Paul: Jean Claude Van-Damme with extra make up cuz hes getting old.
Nina: The hot blonde villian girl from Terminator 3.
Eddy Goro: Wesley Snipe
Kazuya: The guy that battled with Jet Li in Romeo Must Die, Russel Wong;I think thats his name I'm not really sure of his last name.He should have his hair changed for the role just like Jin. Since he has curly hair they need to put a wig on him and scars on his chest to resemble Kazuya.

Ok the list for actors is all wrong. The movie should just be CGI because the bases with the game and everything would be really good and some of the character designs like for Kazuya in his Devil form should just be CGI because it would be better that way than by a crappy man made costume. A full CGI film would have better stuff and if you have seen Romeo must die the visual of when the opponent breaks their arm or busts it organ they should put it like that in CGI.

I think Nina should be played by Uma Thurman or that scary blonde chick from Termintator 3.Definetely Jackie Chan as Lei,and Jet Li as Law.This is my honest opinion, but I really don't think anyone made of flesh can portray Kazuya...but,if you HAVE to,make it Russell Wong.I guess he would make an exceptable Kazzy...Fann Wong or Zhang Ziyi as Ling Xiaoyu.Arnold Swartzeniger(sp) as Jack (which ever Jack,it don't matter).
And,please have people who can actually act,and look the part as well!!Because it'll be a sad thing if they give the parts of the 'pretty boys'(Hwoarang,Jin,etc)of Tekken to white american actors.

these are the cast of excellent actors that should be in the current and next Tekken movie
Heihachi Mishima: a random japanese man could play Heihachi because I have never seen anyone in entertainment that who even resembles him
Kazuya Mishima: The main japanese bad guy who Jet-Li fought at the end of "Romeo Must Die" movie, or the japanese bad guy in Lil Jon's rival on Lil Jon's video from the "crunk juice" album, if not a random japanese actor.
Jin Kazama: Michael Copon an upcoming japanese actor who guest star on "That's So Raven" and he also was a formal power ranger. I pick him because he's young and could a 16-23 year old role. And for the simple fact he look just like jin kazama.
Jun Kazama: Ming-Na Wen would be absolutely perfect for the role of Jun Kazama. She's a bueatiful japanese woman who's the voice of "Mulan" the animated Disney movie and also played the popular, bueatiful, strong journalist Chun-Li Zang from the movie "Street Fighter". Ming-Na is 42 going on 43 years old and she looks like she could be in her 20s, so she could play the Jun in her 20s and 40s and for the simple fact she looks just like jun.
Ling Xiaoyu: Brenda Song resembles Xiaoyu enough to play her role because she's kind of short, cute and sweet. Brenda plays in the Disney channel series "Phil of the Phuture" and also play a little snobby rich girl on " The Suit Life of Zack and Cody". She'll be able to play a 15-21 year old.
Hwoarang: I can't really think of anyone who's good enough or might even resemble him. But I can say that if you pick someone make sure he's tall, slim, muscle built, cocky, flexable and a korean prettyboy.
Nina Williams: There is no one more perfect for the role Nina Willams than Nicole Kidman. Nicole looks exactly like Nina they are identical. Nicole is one of the top best actors which means she could just about play any role especially a sext assasin. Nicole already looks like she could be in her 20s plus Nina is really older than what she really is because of the deep cryogenic sleep she and her sister Anna were in for 19 years. Nicole Kidman is a right on point actor for the character of Nina Williams.
Anna Williams: There are three very attractive actresses that could play/betray the bueatiful Anna Williams. Cameron Diaz(Charlie's Angels), Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), and Sarah M. Gellar (Buffy).
Eddie Gordo: There are two great black actors I have in mind. Jamie Fox (Ray Charles & Collateral) and Mekhi Phifer (8 Mile & O).
Christie Monteiro: There's two leading ladies on my list and they are the world famous "Victoria's Secert" supermodel Tyra Banks and actress Sanaa Lathan (AVP)
Lei Wu-Long: There's only one and i mean only one perfect chinese man who could play this role any bind dummy could see it, "you know it" the infamous "JACKIE CHANG"!
Perfect! It don't get no better than that man.
Lee Choalan: The perfect man 20s and 40s for this role is no other but Tom Cruise (Vanilla Sky & Collateral he's perfect. He's talented, very handsome, and looks exstreamly young for his age. I can't picture no one else better to play this stuck up,and rich prettyboy than the oscar nominated actor Tom Cruise.
Marshal Law: There no other extrodinaray actor that could play law better then Jet -li. For all the obvious reasons.
Michelle Chang: I would say the angel "Selena" but her soul is resting in heaven so next in line is Jennifer Lopez it does make sense. J. Lo is a great actress for the role of the wandering fighter Michelle Chang.
Julia Chang: Christina Vidal(Freaky Friday & The Taina series) is a great young actress that could play the role of Julia the other "wandering fighter" Chang. Take a pic of Julia and a pic of Christina and put them right next to each other now, look at the resemblace.
Bruce Irvin: Will be no other then Roy Jones Jr. He's a great boxer and not to mention a good actor.
Raven: For this character I know everybody's 1st choice is Wesley Snipes(Blade) he is a spitting image of the black ninja. My second choice the black male supermodel Tyson Beckford.
Armor King/King: Just make him a mexican man with a tiger mask.
Paul Pheonix: to play the Paul in his 40s would be Jean Claude Van Dame and for the Paul in his 20s could be Lindsey the lawyer from Wolfram In hart on the hit series "Angel".
Steve Fox: This young gentlemen is the son of Nina Williams. The perfect person for this role would be Brad Pitt (Fight Club & Meet Joe Black). He just looks like him O.K. !
Bryan Fury: Vin Diesel is a good actor even though he doesn't really look exactly like bryan but his talent, body, and acting; gets him this role as Bryan Fury.

Uma Therma is to ugly to play Nina Williams. The only thing that they have in common is that they're both white women. If uma was to slightly turn her head they might have the same face structure. Uma is a beautiful woman but not enough to play Nina. I bet the only reason why you picked her because you liked her in "Kill Bill". Nicole Kidman is one the best actors in the game not only her looks are identical to Nina's but she has the skills. Nicole is diversal actor she can play a good guy, bad guy, nuetral, or a slut. Which ever roll you give her she can portray and look the part 10 times better than Uma Therma especially for the roll of Nina Williams.

The guy said he was looking into UFC and PRIDE and getting into the seedyness of steroids use. It is going to be Bloodsport meets Walker Texas Ranger with the name Tekken thrown on it for no reason other than ticket sales.
The movie will prob. go something like this:
John Kazama (Played by a Russel Crowe look-a-like): Hey, Frank we have to go infiltrate that drug ring/illegal fight ring!
Frank Wulong (Played by a Brandon lee look-a-like): Yeah. The evil Mishima crime cartel has terrorized Los Angeles LONG ENOUGH!
Brian Fury: I work for the Mishima crome cartel! I'm going to shoot you!
Josh Mitsu: Ha! I cut off your hand with this sword I found, Brian!
Nina and Anna Williams: Leik, we're totally valley girl twins that, leik, totally want to get naked and snort coke with our boyfriend, Gun Jack!
Gun Jack (played by liljon): Whassa! I'm a big P.I.M.P. up in hur!
Bruce Erveng (played by some other rapper): Yo, man. It's time for black on black blaxploitation fight time, boi!
Ling X: I'm a coke addict stripper with a kid that is going to get naked for no good reason!
Dr. B: I make the special super-coke in my lab! w007!
Harold Mishima: I'm teh bouse! John Kazama, I am your father! Now we fight to the death!
Ashley Kazama: John! You saved me! Time for another long love scene!
Kevin Mishima (played by Christopher Walken): You... killed by brother... Harry... time... to die now...

IF there is going to be a tekken movie they better put some time and effort in it or it'll end up like the street fighter movie... that movie was garbage! plot sucked! they indefinitley picked wrong actors to play the roles of the street fighters, except for van damme... he made an OKAY guile but Dolph Lungren (opposite van damme in universal soldier) would have fitted the guile role perfect. they should introduce all the characters in tekken in sequels so they can keep the movie open and keep the audience drueling for more. unlike the SF movie where they brought (or tried) every character from the SF lineup... thats why the story sucked. they should do it in the way the movie mortal kombat, part one did it... now that was an awsome transition from game to movie right there! part two though of the movie is a whole different story... the movie had great CGI effects and what not and the soundtrack was off the chain, and the martial arts was on the dot; but like the SF movie... it sucked ass! plot sucked! the actor who played shao khan looked like a doofus with no klue at all, almost half of the characters in the game don't have a role at all?! as if they are just stand ins and die within minutes of there introduction... blah! gettin bored of typin so much gonna end it here... all i say here is this... if they kan utilize everything that the movie MK1 was then ladies and gentlemen... we have ourselves a tekken movie... if it leans towards MK2 and SF the movie... gonna be a flop fo sho... some of you may disagree with what i say but hey... thaz mah opinion so roll it up in a zig zag and smoke it! shawtie wer ya b33n?! peace...

Ok first of all, everyone who has said that Jin Kazama should headline the first movie needs to think again!!!! If this movie is going to do the series any justice it has to go all the way to the beginning. It can't be some quick Knock off; everything that made this series arguably one of the best figting games of all time has to be present in order for it to be worthy of the big screen. This means that Kazuya must be the star of part one. His story is like that of Darth vader. He is a tragic Character that has good in him but falls victim to evil (the devil within). Hihachi Mishima(I probably spelled it wrong, all apologies) is the villain and even he is not all evil until much later in the series. Kazuya is, accidentally, dropped of a cliff by his father hihachi, leader of the mishima Zibatsu who was trying to force his son to shed his fear. Kazuya survives the fall and swears revenge against his ruthless father. This story is the foundation of the entire Tekken series. Without it the movie will be another mortal Kombat.
Also, Tekken didn't get where it is today by only being a rockem sockem fighting game. It was the innovative choices in fasion design, character choice, soundtrack ect that made it stand apart from Mortal Kombat and Virtua fighter. What am I trying to say with this? Simple, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING, DO NOT RUSH ANYTHING, TELL THE STORY AS IS AND A NEW STANDARD WILL BE SET IN ALMOST EVERY ASPECT OF OUR CULTURE. It can do to the movies what it did for the gaming industry if it is displayed as it was meant to be. The use of different languages and subtitles is a must. Tekken is not exclusive to one culture. The game was driven by its constant attempt to display the wonders of diversity. It continues to do so to this day, taking all fighting icons and transforming them into worthy characters. Tekken was everyones game and it should be everyones movie. Kazuya and hihachi should speak Japaneese. Law and Paul should speek english. (law (Bilingual)and Lei should speak chineese, and in TEKKEN 3, when Jin is introduced, he, Hwarang and Eddie Gordo should speak english as well as thier native languages.
With that said, I know all of you want to see Jin and believe me I do too, but if they begin with him, the series will loose its heart and fizzle before your eyes. Jin is a strong character because of his deep roots and flashbacks in a 2 hour movie are not going to capture that essence as it should be presented. Start with Kazuya. I reccomend the guy who played Nova in the avenging fists movie. He looked tremendously like kazuya, and seeing that years have passed since its release, I think he would be perfect for the role. It will be one of the worst atrocities imaginable if they do not choose Ric Yune to play Jin. The guy is the spitting image of Jin and has an attitude to match. Manny credit vin deisle as to why the fast and the furious was a hit. I credit Ric Yune. He made that movie. He was the most Charasmatic character in the film. If this response is too long, sorry, but it all had to be said. -Joe

Hihachi Mishima-Ken Wanatabe (Probably spelled it wrong). He is the guy from The last Samuri & Batman Begins
Kazuya-Nova from the avenging fists-If not him then Jet Li- I have seen him with eyebrows like kazuza's in one of his movies and he was tha spitting image of the man.
Law- Jet li? Hell No!!!
Law needs to be played by the best imitator of bruce lee alive. Someone who looks and acts like bruce lee. A new guy.
Jack 5-Brock Lesnar (there is no one else)
Marduck (not until part 4)-The giant from the movie "Troy" Nathan Jones (Goldberg is too short)
Paul-The freakin dude from the transporter people Come on!!! (he'll need a wig of course).
Lei-Jackie chan is the Ideal choice, but I agree with the person who said he should not try to be funny. Lei would be the ultimate display of Chans ability.
Nina-Uma Thurman (there is no other, especially after kill bill) -Joe
Jun Kazama-Gail Kim with matrix fight training and acting lessons. (I can only dream of such things...)
The rest should be played by professional fighters and debut actors and actresses who know how to kick ass.

i personally think that this should be a mega long movie that begins way back even before tekken 1, where Jinpachi Mishima is in control of the Mishima Zaibatsu and finishes with his defeat in Tekken 5. In the Tekken 5 story, Jin Kazama wins the tournament but I think that it should be Heihachi because he is far cooler and stronger than pussy jin.
Also, I think that only the cool characters should be included in the movie, these include heihachi, kazuya, yoshimitsu, jin, law, jack-5, nina and anna williams, lee chaolin and the two super cool characters raven and feng. Forget about that wannabe paul pheonix or that minge julia, eurgh! Also, there was a previous comment about the actors needing to look like the tekken characters themselves. I think that this is essential and may I suggest actually making an actual fighting robot to play as yoshimitsu, or resurrecting bruce lee from the dead to play kazuya. Jesus wouldnt that be amazing? And you could have jet li floating about playing lei wulong like the martial arts wannabe he is.
Seriously though, I think that a Tekken movie would be absolutely brilliant, so long as the cast actually look like the characters and if it gives us a sneak peek at jinpachi in his younger years. And, most importantly, STONE MUST INCLUDE THE VERY OPENING SEQUENCE FROM TEKKEN 5, THE ONE WITH THE JACK-5S, HEIHACHI AND KAZUYA-THE SINGLE GREATEST OPENING TO A GAME. EVER. period

im gonner steal that kazuya main chracter idea and make that my own 1, that wuld be the best one. kazuyarocks is absolutely right in saying that kazuya should be the main character certainly in the first movie. To be honest, though, heihachi would still be a good candidate for the main character.
The only thing kazuyarocks lacks is a good name. Try heihachirocks m8, sounds far better. Which reminds me, anyone who thinks that they will beat me on tekken 5 against my heihachi mishima or yoshimitsu OR kazuya had better think again

last little thing before i piss off for a while
music has to have some songs that are or are very similar to the songs from reanimation from linkin park. Also, maybe TEKKno hiphop (like what i did, with the TEKKno, you know TEKKen? o well) and also even some songs from the series itself. May i suggest the very opening music of Tekken 5 (i know i keep going on about that opening, but it is so fukin good!) and, of course, Martial Symphony Opus 5. I've even been cool enough to put that song on my iPod. A song from Tekken? On an iPod?

I think wesley snipes should play raven, the guy from the first karate kid the sensei bad guy for phenix, chan for lei, jolie for michelle chun, that girl from dark angel and fantastic four for julia, and so on and i also think the characters should stay loyal to thier martial arts style and their language[english, jap, chin, pueto rican etc...] and have the choegraphy in the style of a kung fu movie.

I have to agree with some of Chris Tanya's opions I think Michael Copon should should play Jin Kazama, most def I think Nicole Kidman should play as Nina Williams she looks exactly like her, Sarah Michelle Gellar should play Anna Williams and Brenda Song should play Ling Xiaoyu.
Jennifer Lopez is a very good choice for Michelle Chang but I think Roselyn Sanchez would be better for the part, but Christina Vidal is a good choice foe Julia Chang.
Tyra Banks do looks exactly like Christie Montiero but she be a little to old to play her part but on second though she do look like she be 19 on the slick but I also think Beyonce would be good to play Christie Montiero but whoever said Jennifer Lopez could Christie is a bind dummy. I though Christie was a brazilian black chick the people who design the character made it very clear for you to see that. The main reason why the gave Eddie, Tiger, and Christie the copiera fighting style because it's an old African fighting style that black people created that's why the japenese people who made the game gave it to those characters.

I don't know whether or not my other comment got in or not but I apologise if I am repeating my self. The movie should be about the Mishimas and Kazamas but include the other characters as part of the whole in the movie but drop the tedious unrealistic characters like roger and kuma and still keep the mystic beings like devil, angel, ogre and devil jin. the actor to play graig marduk should be austrailian and black keeping loyal to the tekken/namco story to please the mainstream audience and not piss off the hardcore tekken fans or martial artists [e.g xing yi, chi gung, five form animal kung or gung fu, capiero, tao kwan do, shotokan karate etc....]the characters should have some depth to them like a great drama e.g lost the movie stay loyal and I think Charles Stone III [I don't know whether or not he actually has been on this site or not that's up to him] should carry on with his project in his own style carrying what I've said in mind and It should be a fantastic film. thank you for reading.

Uma is too old and ugly to play Nina Williams, the girl from terminator 3 is just not Nina, Nicole Kidman looks like Nina but can she fight and she is 38 thats like 16 years older than Nina, Sarah Michelle Geller, is not good enough for Nina. Melissa George is not much older than Nina 28 i think, she looked like Nina in scenes of the amityville horror (remake) and was just as heartless and deadly as Nina when she played in Alias. None other than Melissa is perfect for the role as Nina.

heihachi mishima: Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa
kazuya mishima: Rick Yune or Russell Wong
jun kazama: Ming-Na Wen
jin kazama: Michael Copon
lee choalan: John Stamos or Tom Cruise
lei wu long: Jackie Chan
nina williams: Nicole Kidman, Alicia Silverstone, or Kristanna Loken
anna williams: Sarah Michelle Gellar or Cameron Diaz
Bruce Irvin: DMX if Brian White did not have the part already
Michelle Chang: Roselyn Sanchez, Penelope Cruz, (may-be Jennifer Lopez I rather Selena over all of them if she were alive), or Talisa Soto
Paul Pheonix: Christian Kane or Jeanclaudevandamme
Forest Law: Jet Li
The following characters that i cast to be in the Tekken movie should be the main characters of the movie. Also I agreed with alot of people opinions on the forum about who should play who. Some of them I think was fantastic (Tom Cruise as Lee Choalan, Nicole Kidman as Nina Williams, Michael Copon and Jin are twins and Brenda Song was a clever one for Ling Xiaoyu) and some I think was way off (Jennifer Lopez as Christie, C'mon people as the forum people said on the sight Christie is a black brazillian woman) I think Baek Do San will be a character in the movie but can not find a match for him. If the story goes right in the movie Michael Copon as Jin should be in the last ten or fifth-teen minutes of the movie.

I got to say those are great picks for the 1st Tekken movie but for the second I think it should be.
Michael Copon- Jin Kazama
Brenda Songs, Zhang Ziyi it's either or - Ling Xiaoyu
It is hard trying to find a good red head Korean man to play Hwoarang ?but I do think he should be a main character.
Eddie Gordo - Darius McCrary, Jaime Fox, or Mekhi Phifer
Christie Monteiro - I would say Tyra Banks or Halle Berry but they are way to old they're not even in their 20s but I do think Beyonce Knowles or Samantha Mumba is the people for the role.
Nina Williams - I think Nicole Kidman is perfection for Nina Williams and the girl that played as the terminatrix was a fine choice also
Anna Williams - I think Christina Applegate is the best person for Anna but if she can't do it I think it should be either Sarah Gellar or Cameron Diaz.
Lee Choalan - you were right it is a difficult choice out of Jesse from Full House (John Stamos) and Tom Cruise.
I don't think DMX should play Bruce Irvin cause Denzel Washington
is better but they already have their Bruce.

Chiaki Kuriyama (GoGo Yubari from Kill Bill Vol. 1), has to play Xaiyoo. Chiaki has that cuteness look in her, but at the same time looks like she'll tear you to shreds, and thats what Xaiyoo is like. So just take off the bangs, put the hair in pigtails, and ta da!

I think Uma is not it for Nina Williams NO! Forget that I know she is not it for Nina because she is just to not it, just because they are both tall blonde white women and Uma played a assasin role in Kill Bill NO,NO, NO 1000 times NO.
Alcia Silverstone is O.K. but she is to goofy lookin. I would say Nicole Kidman because she would be perfect for Nina but she would have to gaine alot of weight but then again that is her job as a actress. But the girl who played Jill on R.E. movie 2 to play Nina is insane I rather see the girl from th T3 movie to play Nina part.
Sarah (Buffy) is perfect for Anna you guys need to see Cruel Intentions she looks amazingly like Anna she is the perfect actress for Anna then both of them have that darling baby face

Okay, I just read how someone thought that Gwen would play a great part as Nina, and I totally agree w/them. Could you just imagine how tight that would be. I mean just picture Gwen in those high heel boots and a machine gun. It would be tight! Plus Gwen has that boldeness in her that we see in Nina. Gwen could probably also add flavor to the Nina role. So everyone please consider it. If not Gwen, then how 'bout Rebbeca Ramone stamos, she was pretty good in Femme Fatal. What do u guyz think?

Ive heard some good suggestions on this board for Nina. but Gwen Stefani is not one of them. Sarah Michelle Geller no way shes just no. The T3 girl she has the emotionless part down but she dosent seem to be as attractive as Nina, Nicole Kidman closely resembles Nina and is a great actress she would most likley be able to pull of the role of Nina, another good suggestion ive heard is Melissa George, she bares some resembalance of Nina and she played a couple of fight scenes in other shows. they are probably the only 2 good suggestions that ive heared for Nina. im not sure about Holly Brisley i havent seen her play any action roles.

I see a lot of people thinking that some A-List actor would be perfect for the part of a character just because they "think" they look like the Tekken characters. If this movie is to be a success, it needs to make the right impression. Let's take some old Chinese Martial Art flicks: Jackie Chan's old movies, Sammo Hung's, Yuen Baio's, Chow Yun Fat's etc. They all are amazing to watch because of the genuine fighting sequences and the fact that they have studied the martial arts properly. I don't know about you guys but i find that it looks pretty stupid that, say, cameron diaz will be taught martial arts in a short space of time with the aid of a trainer and some invisible wires would look pretty daft and obnoxious. We really need to look further to maybe lesser known actors who would be guaranteed to make a good show of both martial arts and acting. A perfect example is Zhang Ziyi from House of Flying Daggers, Rush Hour 2 and Hero. She has the knowledge of the martial arts and is a good actor, great combination. Even though i have no suggestions for Actors to portray characters from Tekken, i just think it should be better to actually find people who can fight, and not be some overblown hollywood starlett who looks stupid fighting off several Tekken Force soldiers. It should be thought out thoroughly. We don't want another Street Fighter on our hands!

Heihachi Mishima - Ken Watanabe or Sonny Chiba
Jin Kazama - Takeshi Kaneshiro
Nina Williams - Nicole Kidman (she's irish too, perfect!!)
Lei Wulong - Jackie Chan
Raven - Wesley Snipes
Craig Marduk - Nathan Jones (just make him darker)
Bruce Irvin - DMX
Bryan Fury - Dolph Lundgren
Feng Wei - Cary-Hiroyuki Togawa
IMHO, the nationality of the character should be taken into consideration...

Well, I sincerely think that almost (note that I said ALMOST) all of the character to actor ideas above are absolutely horrible. For example, Nicole Kidman playing the part of Nina Williams. I mean just picture it. Do you guys really think a woman, who yes is stunningly beautiful and who yes, is also a tall caucasian female, could really fill the shoes of a character who is such an enigma, so bold, so talented in combat, and so emotionless. Just imagine, you go to your local theatre, waiting to see the Tekken Movie, and when you see Nicole Kidman dressed up in an outrageous outfit, trying to fight her way around, probably looking ridiculous while doing so, will you seriously be satisfied? Even Melissa George, yes she does slightly resemble Nina, but is that really enough? I mean can the woman even actually throw a single punch? My piont is, for Nina, the director needs to chose an actor who is both attractive and talented in acting. The best suggestion I've read is Uma Thurman. I just saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 ( yes some of you may be thinking where have you been?!), and Uma looks alot like Nina. For example, when the Bride is hiding under Budd's trailer, and is wearing her hair with her bangs in her eyes. Another great suggestion I've heard is Gwen Stefani. Some who are reading this may be thinking how could I write all this drama and suggest someone who has had so little acting in her. well I suggest this because I know that if Stefani got the part as Nina she would be great as her. I just see it in Gwen that she could do it. So if the director of this film ever happens to come about reading this opinion I suggest that you really sit down and think about it. Probably the greatest suggestion I've heard is also Chaiki Kuriyama as Xaiyoo. Ckiaki is both talented and is great at fighting.

Sorry I've been away so long I was really busy.
The last three opinions really hit home, I mean some of these guys really know what they're talking about but take into consideration some people have suggested actors not in the same ethnic group as the characters, I mean tom cruise as lee chaolon please! that's not in any way feesable! This is not racist this is just common sense, and by the way sarah michelle geller was awful in buffy and so was the tv show and would make an even more awful nina williams I'm sorry if I sound cruel but it had to be said thank you for your time.

Nicole Kidman is not Irish she is Australian. BTW Melissa George can fight obvisouly you havent seen her in Alias. The only reason I thought of Melissa as Nina was because of her role as Lauren Reed in Alias. She started off as a really nice person but later on it was revealed that she was a cold blooded assassin.
She is in a fight seen here with Jennifer Garner in Alias season 3 Finale, its quicktime format.

I just saw Uma Thurman in be cool and she dont look anything like Nina, dont get me wrong Uma is a very attractive woman and a talanted actress but she is too old and doesnt look like Nina. BTW Nina Williams is short whoever got the idea that 161cm is tall must not know anything about measurement. an average person stands about 170cm-180cm so idealy the actress playing Nina should be short not tall Nicole Kidman is nearly identical to DBD Nina but I saw her in Bewitched and she appeared tall, dont know could be movie magic. Melissa George is reasonably short, can fight and has a good likness for Nina personally I think she should get the part.

Hi it's me again, I said before I had more suggestions on who should play what characters and I will.
here are the following:-
Bryan Fury- Josh Holloway [ if you've seen lost and sawyer you'll know why]
Steve Fox- Scott Speedman [ if potrayed in the right way he will be a great choice]
paul pheniox- martin kove [ probably]
Ultimately I think whoever is casted at the end Charles Stone III must make sure the actors have a great knowledge physically and mentally of martial arts whether or not the actors are well known they must perform the fight sequence to the highest standards in touch with the character's fighting style and also looking good and athletic of course, thank you very much and I'll post in another comment as soon as possible.

you must be half bat & half scarecrow because any dummy like yourself can see Nicole Kidman looks just like Nina. Nicole has that emotionless look on her face she maybe a liltle skinny for Nina's figure but think about I'm a white girl and even I know they do not have that many white actresses who's tall beautiful and has a big butt and big bress like Nina does. Nicole is a very talented and attractive woman who has way more experience than Uma Thurman. Kill Bill was a good movie but the only thing the bride had in common with Nina was that they are both white female assasins just like 1000 other video game girls. Not to mention the nerve of you even comparing Uma looks to Nina's is unacceptable. Nicole is a spitting image of Nina and played in countless movies such as "Batman Forver" (she really looks like Nina in that movie), "The Others", "Eyes Wide Shut", etc.. So next time do your research before your dissing other people opinions KAY!.

Yay! it's about time we had a Tekken movie. Just reading some comments I think all you lovely people have some great ideas.Just about the cast...
Lei is based upon Jackie Chan with his different styles and use of the drunkin master style. He even looks like Jakie and is a cop. Lets make Lei Jackie
I read someone suggestions Christie should be Jennifer Lopez. Not sure about that. Christie's body is little more lean. I think Jessica Alba would be good?
Now you all agree that Paul should be Vandam. No, can't do that. Paul is much to big and Vandam isn't rough looking enough. I think Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolvereign, would be perfect.
Now Marshall Law is based on Bruce Lee (the greatest fighter of all time). I'm not sure about Jet Li. He doesn't have that slight caucasion look that Bruce had. Wouldn't know who to use however?
Marduk should be Goldberg. Its rather simple they look so alike and can use angles to make Goldberg look even bigger.
Yoshimitsu is intersting. We could use the predator? haha. Any computor generated guy would do. Just look at Gollum from LOTR.
Nina could be played by Sarah Michelle Gellar? Kristana Loken is good but might make a better Christie that I think about it.
Peace Out

I can't exactly remember the websites but I'm pretty sure I read that Lee was adopted half chinese and half white person who was originally born in America until Heahachi took him in and as he got older he studied similar martial arts to Marshall Law. I also read he died is hair silver to defied the odds of his races and was called the silver devil. Lee does looks chinese on the gameplay but he looks just like a white boy on the CG animation; so if it is true that Lee is half white then I would say that Tom Cruise would be perfect in the movie just make him mention that he is half chinese and half white say is . But I do agree with you on the actors should match the characters race who ever said J. Lo should play Christe is crazy I could see them saying Beyonce, Ciara, Tyra Banks, Halle Berry, Samantha Mumba or even Vivica A. Fox as least all of them are black women these thoughts like Jessica Alba and Jennifer is no way. As latina I don't want see Jessica Alba I don't even like her and I definitely don't want to see J.Lo nasty self in the camera. The choice I heard for Christie is Samantha Mumba.

First of all I'd like to thank the person who informed me of lee chaolon's race so thank you very much for keeping me up to date.
Now back to business I heard that Jackie Chan may be in a pre production of rush hour 3 and I'm not sure whether or not he may be in the tekken film I hope he'll find the time to be casted in the movie if not it is a very big disappointment he's not in it just as it is a shame bruce lee isn't with us today because the role of Marshall law and lei wulong were made for these guys for these simple reasons,
1] they're good actors
2] they are[or were] in best physical condition
3]they have a great knowledge of martial arts and showmanship
4] they are great legends of martial arts and cinema
5] they look exactly like the characters
but the real mind bender is who to play feng wei I mean everyone has had suggestions but I don't think any of them would fit because feng is very rugged, muscular and youthful and to find anyone like that with acting and kenpo skills will be really hard to come by, I think the way to go is probably to get an young, unknown actor with the skill and charisma but the seriousness to play Feng Wei along with the physical attributes.

Okay, I am so sick and tired of hearing that Nicole Kidman should play Nina Williams. They DO NOT look like each other, and Nicole doesn't seem like she would act well in an action film. So what the hell are you guys thjinking!!!!!!!!!!!!? Come on now! And this guy who has his subject listed *Actors* knows what hes talking about. i would be so disappionted if I found out Nicole Kidman was gonna be Nina. I do like the Gwen Stefani being in this film. However I don't really see her as Nina. But she NEEDS to be in this film. SERIOUSLY? I havn't played any of the recent Tekken games in a long time (hooked on that old skool tekken) so is there any other white girlz on tekken Gwen culd play? Hey...I havn't read any respnses to Go Go Yubari 4rm Kill Bill playing Xaiyoo. I want 2 know what u guyz think. 4 realz.

Erm.. we have people talking about having Wesley Snipes playing Raven, which is good and all, but let us remember that this movie is not going to be MK Annihilation, where every character is poured onto the screen without explanation. If you guys think this movie will contain all the characters from Tekken 5 you'll be greatly mistaken. Take the story from the first and second Tekken games. Now this would be a great starting point for the movie where we can start by introducing the Mishima Zaibatsu, the whole deal with Heihachi and his son and stuff. The movie then can move forward with lots of drama, action and possibly comedy (i said possibly!). We want this to gradually build on itself, and not pile all characters into one. If we want to know each of the characters and their stories well enough tpo relate to the characters we'll need plenty of time (and sequels) to understand em all. Think Star Wars. It's great that you guys are thinkin about all the characters but be reasonable in thinking and don't think that this film is going to involve everyone from all the tekkens, cos it aint gunna happen (unless the director is a 5 year old kid who's just bought Tekken 5 - which he isn't).
I agree with most people when you say that Jackie Chan should play Lei Wulong, obviously because the original character was based on Jackie himself so yeh good choice. Now about Jet Li, i doubt he'll star in this movie as he has given a statement where he said that he would do one more movie and then he would retire from his martial arts career, and i'm afraid this isn't the movie he was talking about. But please, again i'm going to reiterate, don't think that A-List celebs are going to be any good in Tekken, because frankly they aren't. I mean maybe Keanu Reeves is an A-List celeb that found fame and has a good sense of martial arts, but we have to see it this way - Just because someone looks like a character, doesn't mean they will be any good, i mean fighting wise. If this movie is to be any good, the actors have to be able to pull off an amazing array of martial arts, have good acting skills and not have some look-alike stuntperson with a wig on doing stunts to prevent little miss A-List celeb from breaking her $50m insured fingernails.
I'll have more to say when i can think of something to say

I heard Go Go's comments on the character ling xioyu and the actress to play her, I am of course talking about go go in kill bill[ real name Chiaki Kuriyama] and you're right she would make a brilliant ling xioyu but unfortunately the part has already been taken by vicki zhao, maybe Chiaki Kuriyama could play Asuka Kazama instead.

Kazuya: Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa would be good but you?ll find out soon who he would be perfect as, or perhaps Kevin Shou if he improved his hair-do, he should be old enough now?
Heihachi: Sonny Chiba (Think about it, he?s a 4th dan black belt in karate and jujitsu and he?s the right age and looks like Heihachi, he?d be perfect!)
Jin: Takeshi Kaneshiro (I mean, come on, he?s even got Jin?s nose!) or 2nd choice Michael Copon
Law: Alan Chan
Hwoarang: Stephen Fung Tak-Lun
Bryan: Vin Diesel perhaps, he?s got the voice and the build for it.
Murdock: Goldberg
King: The Rock
Nina: Kristen Loken or Uma Thurman or Rebecca Romijn-stamos or Melissa George, all would be great otherwise someone who is actually Irish but then again neither of the Williams sisters had Irish accents in the games
Anna: Sienna Guillory or Milla Jovovich same goes as above
All Jacks: Arnold Schwarzenegger
Raven: Wesley Snipes (need I say more?)
Lei: Jackie Chan (he was made for this part!)
Xiaoyu: Zhang Ziyi or Chiaki Kuriyama
Asuka: Anne Suzuki or Chiaki Kuriyama
Jun: Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, you seriously cant get any better) or 2nd choice Ming-Na Wen
Steve Fox: Scott Speedman
Eddie: Mekhi Phifer
Paul: Hugh Jackman, of course he?d have to have blonde hair
Feng Wei: CARY HIROYUKI TAGAWA ALL THE WAY!!! Friggen heck I can?t believe you people have been thinking he should be Kazuya!!! HIROYUKI TAGAWA LOOKS EXACTO-FUCKING-LY LIKE FENG WEI DAMNIT!!!
Lee Chaolan: Andy Lau, Definitely
As for soundtrack, Linkin Park was made to play the soundtrack of Tekken, especially Reanimation! And techno hip-hop should be in there, and also the backing tracks to some of the openings of the games!
And as for the length of the movie, it should be ultra long, so as to put in the stories from Tekken 1 to 5 and maybe even a sneak preview of 6. so it would probably end up being a very long movie. Having sequels would just ruin it.

Tekken can be done WAY MUCH BETTER ...think about Tekken 6 graphics.

I believe we have seen several great films made by CGI and its development has been terrific. Toy Story, Shrek, Ice Age and some live action/CGI films have also been very successful. One in particular that i love and own is Casshern which is a Japanese film based on a 70s anime. With effects like these, i believe it may be a better option to have the film done entirely through renders of CGI. The trouble with this idea though is it could take as much as 5 or 6 years to produce a great quality film. So i guess we are stuck with live action at the moment. I do think this movie would suck if it was just handed to Hollywood to do. Frankly the best films are the ones with mostly unkown casts. I think it would be better to hand it to the Japanese film industry as they would definitely have first hand experience in the field, and also in design and narrative.

to play Michelle it would either have to be out of Roselyn Sanchez or Selena but she is gone to a better place so maybe jennifer lopez, she does have a strong resemblance to Selena and Selena does look exactly like Michelle Chang but Michelle is indian mix with chinese and like you said Roselyn Sanchez did play a puerto rican chinese girl in Rush Hour 2 so I would say Roselyn Sanchez but is Selena was alive I would say her, Jennifer would not make such a bad Michelle herelf but I just think Roselyn would be better.

Winona Ryder would be a great Michelle Chang. I am not sure if Ryder resembles the newer versions of the character Michelle, but she sure does resemble the Michelle out of Tekken 1 and 2. However, I don't think Ryder has had any experience in martial arts so that's the only problem. Hey... I just saw some photos of Vicki Zhao(who supposedly is gonna play Ling Xaiyoo) and they do look identical. Was the character of Ling based on the real life model, cuz they look like twins. Nicole Kidman would make a great Nina problem is she is a really highly paid actress so this could be a problem and currently the media is reporting that her and her husband to be Keith Urban are pregnant. so if thats true I reckon they should go with Melissa George who is also an execllent choice for Nina.

All i can say to you guys is: Go watch the DOA: Dead or Alive teaser trailer. Now what started out as a good fighting game has been turned into an obnoxious fad of a movie conversion with bimbos on screen who are dying to rip their clothes off for the camera. No dignity of the true art of fighting, but a loada scantily clad women playing volleyball for 1 and a half hours. Would you like Tekken to turn out like this? I bet not, so these suggestions are fine in that they may look like the character but be aware that because its going to be a hollywood movie, it will have that essence of martial arts removed and replaced by hollywood overblown dramatisation and will keep up with teenage trends at the moment. Being a Media Student, I understand the ideology and essential requirements for a good film and how it can appeal to the audience and what makes a good film. But, as you can tell i do hate hollywood style films, but only because they have ruined perfectly good actor's careers especially those of transitions from the HK Cinema to America which has clearly degraded their performance and judgement. Again i urge the fact for people to recommend actors, possibly unknown ones who would be good for the part by acting and their skill in the martial arts. Nicole Kidman, i doubt will be a good choice, although looking like Nina or Anna, would just be another "Kylie Minogue acting Cammy" sort of role.
Frankly because of this, all game to movie conversions have really sucked, with the only exception of the first mortal kombat movie because it did not contain overblown celebs from hollywood (with part exception of christopher lambert), almost all the cast were not known very well. We want this film to be a new experience for the audience who are both familiar and unfamiliar with the Tekken series of games. Therefore i would think it would be a better idea to get a Japanese cast for the obvious Japanese ethnicity characters and assort the appropriate actors to the other characters (possibly using CGI for characters like Devil, Jack/Jack-2)
Another good point to put across about Mortal Kombat was the fact that it used characters from only the first and second game - which limited the characters, but allowed the audience to understand who they are and actually what they are doing. Piling all characters from all the tekken series into one film is obviously a bad move because it would end up like MK Anihilation where a characters is thrown onto the screen for the hell of it and killed off in 2 secs. Let this film break the boundaries and assumptions of Game-2-Movie conversions! What do you guys think??

I can tell that you are stupid because the movie is not just about the asian race their going to have the caucasion race, the mexican race, and probaly the african brazillian race not to mention some certain actors are going to be portrayed as mixed characters (Michelle Chang is half native american and half chinese and Lee Chaolan is half white and half chinese) anyway so how dumb of you to even post "japanese characters" when the game/movie is a variety of different races. I can tell that you are blind becuase Angelina Jolie don't look nothing at all like Anna Williams I can understand if you selected actors such as Cameron Diaz, Kirstin Dunst, Sarah Michelle Gellar, or Kate Winslet and as far as Uma Thurman and Nina Williams let's just take moment of silence for this disgraceful opinion................
Okay Uma is old, boney, and to ugly to even play Nina. Just because she was a blond killer in Kill Bill that does not mean she is fit to play Nina, pick somebody who is diversal such as Charlize Theron or Nicole Kidman both of them look exactly like Nina and both are very great actresses and Melissa George does look like Nina but I think she'll better for Nina than Uma. last but not least I just tell that you are one of those senile idiots who just out of their mind from reading your comments you probaly never even played Tekken before.

Wow, by reading all of the above opinions, it appears evident to me that the director of this film has so much pressure and responsibility on him. As a fan of the Tekken series myself, I hope that this film will be above all my expectations. I assume that this movie is just going to be another peice of teenage crap where people "fly" and dioalouge is horrible. Hopefully this doesn't happen because as a younger kid growing up playing the game, I always imagined and hoped that maybe one day there would be a Tekken movie. And now that it's actually gonna happen I hope the director puts all his heart into making it one of the most moving, coolest, and powerful fimls of our time. Tekken holds all the elements that would make a movie excellent, so after the film comes out, if it's not a hit and doesn't earn a heavy amount of money, then the director did not do his job. In MY opinion, I think the path of using too many A-list actors is not such idea for this movie. Like the above commenter, I also want the Tekken movie to be very serious and moving. As a result I suggest that all parts should be taken by unknown actors (WITH ACTUAL TALENT, THOUGH)and famous foreign actors. If this happened I think viewers would take such a movie much more seriously, rather than adults not taking a liking to it just because they think it's a kids movie, due that usaually teen movies always have too many A-list actors. I also suggest that some Asian actors, who have made some good debuts in America, also be in it.

Christie is a black brazillian, not hispanic or latino,so stop saying j-lo should play her part. Also asians should play the asian roles and whites and latinos should play their roles.
I sometimes find it prejudice when a white actor plays a asian

hei but really, its a risks ere i must say.we're talking bout CG graphics(1st priority). If CG&effects are bad..it wil turn out like mortal combat.which was very bad i must say.1st,too many characters,n roles at the same time.it will b very boring for us fans.do remember.Try to focus prob only at few characters.Coz mortal combat really let us down. But if X-men.that ones good,BUT,it was from a comic.not a game.A game means those characters have stg they want/fighting for.Which is totally different from a game. For comic, certain characters are linked to another one, which means..they're alright moving along together.I hope u get wat i mean.cant wait to see the production of Tekken from you sir.ITs a real pleasure.good luck!

Mr. Brandon Le;
I have no doubt in your skill as playing Jin. I agree with you. They should give young stars such as yourself a chance to shine. But you must know that, the fad around this time, is acrobatic movement. If you know any acrobatic movement then you'll be set.
I say, well done on the cast people, but we should try stars un heard of. Ever seen the movie, The Challenge? I think that chicks brother should play Jin, He looks almost like him. Although he knows the Muay Thai style. Tony Jaa should be in the movie too, as Lee or something. The can always get a Street Trickster or Caporia Martial Artist Eddy Gordo. Maybe that Girl who played on Girl Next Door can play Nina Williams. Jackie Chan is Most Definantly.Westley Snipes is Definatly Raven. Or Sticky Fingaz(Rapper and also plays on Moesha and Blade series) can play Raven.
They can always get Japanese Cast members. Look into Japanese Pop culture you will see alot of people that look like tekken fighters. Murdok Should be played by "The Bear" from K-1 Fightining. Or maybe another Ultimate Fighter. Usually movies are best when the have actors unheard of(X-MEN).

She's naturally blond, almost the same figure as Nina(i think), can pull some great moves and looks aggresive. KILL BILL & DEATH BY DEGREES would make a good reference. i wish they would make a Death by Degrees movie, it would be better than Tekken if not on CG.

Jin Kazama= Takeshi Kaneshiro (The majority of people had suggested this and I had to agree on this one)
Heihachi Mishima= Sonny Chiba (Same reason as above)
Kazuya Mishima= Sanada Hiroyuki (The actor from "The Last Samurai")
Jun Kazama= Saeki Hinako (She would be perfect and has the same look as Jun)
Lei Wulong= Jackie Chan (Obvious choice)
Bryan Fury= Brandon Beemer (Perfect build and he looks like Bryan but without the grey hair)
Lee Chaolan= Billy Zane (Phantom reminds me of Violet because he wears purple too)
Bruce Irvin= Brian J. White
Steve Fox= Tom Welling (Peter Hinwood from "Rocky Horror Picture Show" would have been perfect but he doesn't act anymore and he is too old now)
Asuka Kazama= Ayumi Hamasaki
Marshall Law= Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle)
Christie Monteiro= Christina Milian
Eddy Gordo= Lateef Crowder (That capoira practitioner from the movie with Tony Jaa)
Feng Wei= Bolo Yeung

Continued from the previous post
Paul Phoenix= Brad Pitt (I don't think that Brad should act as Steve because he's a bit old so he's better off as Paul)
Anna Williams= Catherine Zeta Jones (Her hair from "Chicago" reminds me of Anna)
Nina Williams= Charlize Theron (Perfect resemblance)
Julia Chang= Shannon Sossamon
Michelle Chang= Tia Carrere (True Lies)
Ling Xiaoyu= Vicki Zhao
Sergei Dragunov= Mads Mikkelsen (Le Chiffre looks like Dragunov)
Baek Doo San= Ken Watanabe (Memoirs of A Geisha)
Hwoarang= Nagase Tomoya (An absolute perfect man to play him :-) search for him on Google search)
Lili= Emilie de Ravin
King= Arnold Vosloo (With a jaguar mask)
Armor King= The Rock (Same as above)
Wang Jinrei= Gordon Liu (With a beard)
Doctor Boskonovitch= Willem Dafoe
Craig Marduk= Bill Goldberg
Yoshimitsu= Yasuaki Kurata
Kunimitsu= Zhang Ziyi
Jack= Val Kilmer
Ganryu= Any Japanese sumo wrestler (Well I can't think of this one can I?)
As for the animals, etc, they should be in CGI
Now for the Tekken 6 new characters:
Leo= Kathyn Morris
Zafina= Summer Glau (Serenity)
Miguel= Criss Angel (I would have said John Travolta if he wasn't old)
Bob= Meat Loaf
Ok so there you have it! A perfect (imo) tekken cast list for the movie in 2009. (Ok so you guys may not agree with this list but at least I gave it a shot)

Jin Kazama- should be played by Rain(Bi) i mean look at his role in ninja assassin see how fitting and bad ass that is for the character of Jin!!and also the kick ass body helped sculpted by the 300 trainers and his outstanding acting skills. also his variety of martial arts styles and experiences again NINJA ASSASSIN :D bad ass!!

A lot of you guys suggests Zhang Ziyi, Brenda Song, Fann Wong, even Aki Maeda to play Xiaoyu. Okay, everyone has their own opinion but PLEASE consider not just the looks but also the "MOVES"!
I was thinking if it would be possible to have Jeeja Yanin to play as Ling Xiaoyu. I mean, she's cute, and also have great fighting moves. She sould be perfect to play Xiaoyu in the next tekken movie.
