There are plenty of porn sites that hardly resemble slashdot. While we are an itemized categorized news site heavily inspired by slashdot, there are some important differences. We're working (sorta) on ways to better integrate the media part with the news part. There was really good article about this very subject on wonko the other day.

the ending could have been better, but what do you expect from hollywood?

slashdot has gone down hill recently, the site is slow to load, the stories arent updatyed as often, the comments have become a sea fo "me too" and "first post!"

i like geeknews.net better.

I will have to agree there. I have noticed that. They also have become to commercialized and sometimes post stories just to post a story to keep up with their record etc...
