UNTOUCHABLES prequel?

The IESB is reporting that director Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day") is working on a prequel to "The Untouchables," the 1987 Brian DePalma gangster hit that told the story of Al Capone (played by Robert De Niro) and his g-man rival, Elliot Ness (played by Kevin Costner).

According to the article, Sean Penn is being wooed to play a young Al Capone in the prequel which will be set sometime before Elliot Ness enters the picture.

The original "Untouchables" was based on a TV series about Elliot Ness.

There is no word on whether Kevin Costner might be asked to play Elliot Ness's father. ?Or grandfather.
