"Spider-Man 2" set new records on its opening day, bringing in $40.5 million. ?The fact that it costs $446 per ticket has nothing to do with it. ?$40.5 million is a new industry record for best opening day and a new record for best opening on a Wednesday.
The previous record was set by the original "Spider-man" in 2002. ?Before that, movie tickets cost only $8, so no records were kept.
The projected gross for "Spider-Man 2" is more than the GDP of many countries.

Regardless of what you may think I am a scriptwriter and supporter of this film anyway Spider-Man 2 has now made $192 million as of today and without doubt by tomorrow it will be the fastest film to gross $200 million so stay tuned.

As of yesterday Spider-Man 2 became the quickest film to ever gross $200 million in only 8 days the record was previously held by the first Spider-Man which grossed $200 million in 9 days. Stay tuned for todays estimates
